The annual meeting for the B.W. Wells Association will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Wells homestead, 2231 Bent Road. Take NC 98 to Stony Hill Road, drive north until you reach the Stony Hill Baptist Church, take a left onto Bud Morris Road, take the second left which is Bent Road and follow it until you fetch up in the driveway and yard at the Wells homestead.
The association invites newcomers and nonmembers to the annual meeting where they can have a delicious lunch of barbecued pork, hear an outstanding speaker, visit the homestead and learn about the association.
Visitors can arrive any time after 11 a.m., and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. The annual meeting with President Sanford Bailey presiding will begin about 1:30 p.m. with his report followed by the election of directors.

He was elected a Fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects in recognition of his extraordinary work and achievement in landscape architecture. He is the 2006 Outstanding Alumnus for the College of Design at NC State University.
The meeting usually ends at about 3 pm. There will be time for visitors to look at historic features such as the old smokehouse and Dr. Wells’s art studio. Members recommend that visitors stroll down to the lake front before lunch.
