The Forest Moon Theater will hold open auditions for “Helium,” a comedy about one of the serious aspects of growing older, at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre on Wednesday and Thursday, July 16 and 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Parts are available for three adult female and three younger male actors ages 10-17. Actors will have an opportunity to present a short (one minute or less) comedic or dramatic monologue. There will also be cold readings from the script. Auditions will be conducted in groups by appointment. The play is the story of Mrs.Molly Kingsley, a retired high school chemistry teacher in her eighties who is struggling with dementia. Gramms, as she is called by her family, navigates her life beyond the boundaries of time and space with consequences both humorous and sobering. Accompanying her on her emotional journey are her divorced daughter, an older teenage grandson and his younger brother, Mrs. Kingsley’s nurse, and a former student.
