The new Holding Park Aquatic Center will open for the 2019 on Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m. It is part of the Wake Forest parks overseen by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department and is operated under contract by AquaTech.
The center features a six-lane, 25-yard lap pool, two water slides with plunge pool and children’s pool with water play. The facility is open during the summer months and offers swimming to the public, as well as swim lessons and parent/toddler swim times. It is located on West Owen Avenue.
The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 7 p.m. on Sundays through June 16. From June 17 through Aug. 23, the facility will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 to 7 p.m. on Sundays. Daily admission fees for Wake Forest residents are $1 for children ages 2 and under; $4 for children ages 3 through 13; $5 for patrons ages 13 through 59; and $4 for ages 60 and over.
Daily admission fees for non-Wake Forest residents are $2 for children ages 2 and under; $6 for children ages 3 through 13; $7 for patrons ages 13 through 59; and $6 for ages 60 and over.
Wake Forest Parks and Rec is also offering a punch card pass good for 20 visits. The punch card costs $60 for Wake Forest residents and $100 for non-Wake Forest residents and can be used by multiple pool patrons.
Parent/Toddler passes are also available and may be purchased at town hall for $40 for Wake Forest residents and $80 for non-Wake Forest residents. Parent/Toddler passes are for one parent and up to two children ages 4 and under. Parent/Toddler swim begins Monday, June 17. Swim times are Monday through Saturday from 10:45-11:45 a.m.
Swim lesson registration will begin Saturday, June 1, and be offered entirely online. The cost is $40 for Wake Forest residents who reside within the town limits and $80 for non-Wake Forest residents. Payments can be made with debit card, MasterCard and Visa.
Classes will be offered for preschoolers (ages 3 through 5) and beginners (ages 6 and above). To view the swim lesson schedule, visit wakeforestnc.gov and search “Swim Lessons.”
