You can make a difference in our community by applying to fill the vacancy on the Human Relations Council (HRC). All residents of Wake Forest and its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) are eligible to apply.

Application forms are also available at the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 Brooks Street. Applicants will be expected to attend the next scheduled meeting of the HRC on Thursday, Aug. 23. The HRC will convene at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 015 on the ground floor of Town Hall, 301 Brooks Street. The meeting room is most easily accessed via Town Hall’s Taylor Street entrance.
Following the interviews on Aug. 23, the HRC will review its slate of candidates before submitting its recommendation to the Board of Commissioners. The Board will announce the new appointment during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
The selected applicant will fill the vacated seat and his or her term will commence immediately.
The town’s advisory boards were established to give citizens input into what happens in the community and to advise the Board of Commissioners on matters that affect citizens and their Town government.
