Apply for advisory board vacancies

You can make a difference in your community and your life by serving on one of the Town of Wake Forest’s advisory boards where there are currently vacancies on four boards.

If you live in town or in the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) you can apply for one of the two openings on the Urban Forestry Board, the vacancy on the Board of Adjustment and the one empty seat on the Cemetery Advisory Board. Only town residents are eligible to apply and serve on the Senior Center Advisory Board. The senior center board meets four times a year; the other boards meet monthly.

Completed applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, and may be mailed or delivered to Town Clerk Deeda Harris, Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St., Wake Forest, NC 27587 or faxed to 919-435-9419.

UFB applicants will have the opportunity to appear before the UFB on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. CAB applicants are invited to attend the CAB meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the ground floor meeting room at town hall, 301 S. Brooks St.

Applicants for the Board of Adjustment will have an opportunity to introduce themselves to town commissioners during the board’s work session on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the board chambers at town hall.

Senior Center Advisory Board applicants will have the chance to appear before the members of the Senior Center Advisory Board on Tuesday, March 2, at 3 p.m. The board meets at the Northern Wake Senior Center, 235 E. Holding Ave.

The Board of Commissioners will announce the new BOA, UFB and CAB appointments during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The board will announce new Senior Center Advisory Board appointments on Tuesday, March 17. Terms for the new appointees will commence immediately.
