Apology

The article about the quasi-legal hearing for the Joyner property-former country club on March 23 included a sentence saying that Wanda Mukherjee claimed standing to testify because she had been told by “Commissioner Keith Shackleford that ‘all citizens of Wake Forest have standing.'”
Mukherjee did not say that. The Gazette mistakenly thought she had referred to someone called Keith and put written words in her mouth.
The Wake Forest Gazette and its editor/publisher Carol Pelosi apologize to Wanda Mukherjee and to attorney and Commissioner Keith Shackleford.
That was bad reporting.

  1. “BAD REPORTING” ?
It’s called journalism. Throw in a pound of spicy contested local issues, three pounds of chilled citizen input, two cups of ‘dicey history’, and a dash of ‘bitter truth’!
The Wake Forest Gazette covers our community issues like no other outlet.
When you go into the weeds on an issue it ain’t a surprise if a few ticks are found after the fact.
Mix those two metaphors well and consider it my way of saying,
”Thank goodness for The Wake Forest Gazette!”
