Kathryn Margaret Wolf

Kathryn Margaret Wolf, 64, went peacefully to Heaven on July 17, 2018 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters.
Kathy, as she was known, was born in London, England and moved to America after being swept off her feet by a U.S. Marine, her husband of 44 years, Bernie.
Together they traveled the world and created a family with their two daughters. Making memories with the family was what mattered the most to Kathy. After retiring as a store manager with AAFES, some of the things that brought her a giddy smile were collecting sea shells at the beach, painting in her happy place, puttering in the garden, interacting with owls or sea turtles, boarding a cruise ship, shopping or finding new projects that have left us with endless treasures.
As a wife, she was an amazing partner, lover and friend. She completed Bernie’s world and their love only grew deeper over the years. As a mother, she taught her two girls so many priceless life lessons that will live on forever; she was the best friend and confidant to each of them. One of her favorite titles was Granny, and she carried a special relationship with each of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Margaret Sanford.
She is survived by her husband, Bernie; daughters, Lisa and Stacey (David); grandchildren, Brandon, Adrian, Izabella, Rocco and “Turtle” (due in February); brothers, Steven (Carol), Michael (Angela); sister, Susan (Russell); and sister-in-law, Diane. Additionally, she is survived by more family and numerous nieces and nephews in England.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Kathryn Wolf Memorial Fund. The purpose of this fund is to generate community awareness and education about the genetic mutation BRCA-1. Details will follow shortly on how to make donations.

Alta Norton Cribb

Alta Norton Cribb met her Lord Jesus Christ face to face on Monday, July 16, 2018. The funeral will be a private family service on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, and burial will be at Pine Forest Cemetery in Wake Forest.
She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Conley C. Cribb, as well as seven of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Clayton and husband, Boyd Clayton, of Johnston County; her son, Randy Cribb and wife, Vickie Cribb, of Raleigh; and her brothers, Cecil Norton of Knightdale and Jimmy Norton and wife, Margaret, of Roseboro.
Alta spent many years as a minister’s wife. She was known for her gift of hospitality. The door of the parsonage was also open to family, friends and church members. Two of her brothers lived in the Cribb home between career changes and were introduced to their future brides from the church family! She was always a favorite minister’s wife.
After the death of Rev. Cribb, she and her daughter-in-law, Vickie, went into business together. She retired in 1998 and continued to live in her home in north Raleigh until 2015. In December of that year she went to live with her daughter, Brenda. In March 2018 she was placed in Oak Hill Living Center where they took wonderful care of her. Smiling one day, she said, “I’m all tied up. Now I’m just waiting for the bow!”
Alta loved children and it was her continuing desire to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Charles “Charlie” Newton, 69, was a son of the late Charles and Margie Branch Newton of Rockingham. Charles was retired from Bell South after 32 years of service.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Bright Funeral Home, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Melissa Newton; his daughter, Ashley Allred (C.W.) of Robbins; his son, Charles “Chuck” Newton III (Linda) of Ellerbe; his brothers, Mike Newton (Diane) of Summerville, South Carolina and Steven Newton (Kim) of Moorsville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his two black labs, Maddie and Molly.
The family will gather after the memorial service at Charlie’s home.
Wiley ‘Ruth’ Frazier Denton

Wiley “Ruth” Frazier Denton, 95, of Wake Forest, N.C., peacefully passed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 18, 2018. She was born Dec. 31, 1922 in Wake County to her parents Wiley Jackson Frazier and Florence Young Frazier. On Aug. 29th 1942, she married the love of her life Hubert “Doc” Kearney Denton. The couple was married for over 53 years and had 4 children together.
Mrs. Ruth was a faithful member of Glen Royal Baptist Church in W.F. where she worked tirelessly as the Church Pianist from 1964 until she retired at the age of 90 in 2012. She worked professionally as an administrative assistant at Wake Electric in W.F for 50 years. Mrs. Ruth dedicated her life to serving Glen Royal Baptist Church, her family, friends, and community. She played piano for numerous weddings, funerals, and nursing homes throughout her life.
Mrs. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Hubert Denton, son Robert “Bobby” Denton, sister Beulah Caudle, and sister Lib Bartholomew.
She is survived by: a daughter, Linda Stinnett of Sneads Ferry, NC; grandchildren: Kevin Ray and wife, Susan, Richard Joseph Stinnett Jr. and wife, Lori; great grandchildren, Cason Ray and wife, Carol Ann, Caitlin Ray Palmer and husband, Zach, Cayleigh Ray, and Dylan Stein, Declan and Conall Stinnett; daughter, Diane Morrison, husband, Oscar of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren: Robin Morrison; Jason Morrison and wife, Naomi; great grandchildren: Lydia, Chloe, Karis, and Titus Morrison; daughter, Susan Jones, husband, Mark of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren: Jenny Ayers and husband, Darin; Tanner Jones and wife, Kayla; great grandchildren, Darin Jr., Kathryn Ruth, and Mary Leigh Ayers, Caiden Jones; grandchildren, Robert Denton Jr., (son of Robert “Bobby” Denton) and wife, Connie; great grandchildren: Ashley Hacker and husband, Jon; Cory Denton and wife, Cristal, Brittany Bruenning and husband, David; great-great grandchildren: Elisabeth, Sklyar and Aria Hacker; Rylan Denton, Micah Bruenning.
Ruth lived the last 7 years of her life with her granddaughter Jenny Ayers and family who lovingly cared for her and will miss her dearly. They appreciate the wonderful inspiration she was to so many in her life. Ruth passed at Rex Hospital with Jenny by her side. A special Thank you to Rachel for being her loving caregiver.
A funeral service honoring her life was held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Glen Royal Baptist Church, 731 Elizabeth Ave., Wake Forest, NC 27587.
