The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce is updating its conference room, and President Ann Welton will give you a discount if you buy more than one of chairs, $25 each as a single, or tables, $75 each as a single.

The chamber’s 2018 Business Expo will be Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Richland Creek Community Church, and registration for chamber members only is now open. If you sign up by July 15 you receive $50 off your booth rental. Sign up now for booths and sponsorships.

The Dental Van is coming to Hope House on Friday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They need dentists and dental assistance personnel to help them out for four-hour shifts in the morning or afternoon. If interested in volunteering, contact Norma Bennekin via email or at (919) 556-601-0739.

The Wake Forest Chamber’s annual meeting, State of the Chamber, will be held Thursday, June 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Sutherland. This is the chamber’s 70th anniversary so it will be something special. Tickets are $20 each.

There will be dinner and drinks from 5:30 to 6:30, the State of the Chamber Update from 6:30 to 7, and the celebration from 7 to 8 p.m.

Are you ready for hurricane season? Would you know what to do if your business was flooded? What about a fire or other disaster? Join other chamber members on Friday, June 15, for a free Disaster Resiliency 101 workshop that will focus on preparations for any disaster. It will be taught by the Carolina Small Business Development fund in the North State Bank Community Room at the chamber, 350 South White Street. Registration begins at 9 a.m. so come early to meet and greet until 10. Breakfast and coffee will be provided, and the workshop will run from 10 to noon.
