Betty Looper Barham
Wake Forest
Betty Looper Barham, 80, of Wake Forest went to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on June 5, 2018 after a four-year battle with a blood disease. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 4, 1938 in Greenville, South Carolina, but spent most of her life in North Carolina. Betty was the daughter of Roy Augustus Looper and Willie Edna Snyder Looper.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Haywood Barham. She leaves behind two children, Dean Barham and wife, Virginia, of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Sherry Barham Upton and husband, Jerome, of Wake Forest; six grandchildren, Alexander Barham of Merrimack, Rachel Barham Rogers (Landon) of Montebelluna, Italy, Rebecca Barham of Merrimack, Graham Upton of Wake Forest, Gabriella Barham of Seattle, Washington and Emma Upton of Wake Forest; and two great grandchildren, Avila Joy Rogers and Holden Paul Rogers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Virginia Bruce (John), Pete Looper (Ruby), Faye O’Neal (Vermon), Wallace Looper, Joe Looper, Carolyn Bailey (Bill), David Looper. She is survived by two sisters-in-law Carol Looper of Wake Forest and Annette Looper of Raleigh. She was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was a long-time member of Wake Forest Baptist Church, she was a lover of church music and devoted much time to the music ministry. In addition to music Betty had an insatiable love of learning, was an avid reader and enjoyed expressing herself artistically through the making of dolls, painting and crocheting.
During the course of her professional life Betty worked at the Biblical Recorder, the NC Baptist State Convention, in the office of two-term Gov. Jim Hunt, Carolina Financial Group and Square D Corporation. Most of her career was spent in the area of human relations.
She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “BB”.

Frank E. Koss
Raleigh
Frank E. Koss, 92, died Friday morning, June 8, 2018, at Brookdale of North Raleigh. He was born March 13, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and retired from IBM as a product manager after 38 dedicated years of service. Frank was an all-round handyman, cook and mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Steven.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Inurnment with military honors followed in Pine Forest Memorial Garden.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth Forrester Koss of Raleigh; two sons, David and Pauline Koss of Wake Forest, Roger and Linda Koss of Raleigh; a daughter, Shannon and Kenneth Curtin of Louisburg; five grandchildren, Gary, Tracy, Matthew, Frank and Shannon; and five great-grandchildren.

Helen Elaine Gaddy

Helen Elaine Gaddy, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Raleigh on June 7, 2018, surrounded by her family.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Bright Funeral Home.
Elaine was born on October 5, 1937 in Union County to Robert Gaddy and Ruth Turner Gaddy. She graduated from Duke University and worked as a nurse at Boylan Internal Medicine. Elaine was cherished by her neighbors and friends, and known for her passion for dogs and her family.
Elaine is survived by her brother, Dr. Robert E. Gaddy Jr., and sister, Lillian Durham; children, Kimberly Jeffries, Buddy Mitchell and Vernon Mitchell (deceased); her three grandchildren, Anna, Thomas, and Robert Jeffries; and her beloved niece, Carol Durham Ferrell and nephew, Jimmy Durham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Greer, and her dear friend, David Biddy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society in Elaine’s honor would be cherished.

Beloved husband, cherished father and adoring brother, Warren left us on Friday, June 8, 2018, for Heaven.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Franklinton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton.
Warren was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Collins, and his mother, Billie H. Collins, of Franklinton.
Left behind to await a reunion is his wife of 43 years, Linda Collins; his daughter, Heather Wood; his son, Chris Murray; grandson, Dalton Lee Murray; brother, Mike R. Collins; a nephew, Mike B. Collins and wife, Channa, and their two sons, Parker and Spencer; mother-in-law, Evelyn P. Wright; brother-in-law, Mike D. Wright and wife Jong; and seven wonderful ragamuffin cats.
There are no words to express our love and loss, but there will be great joy when we are reunited forever. Rest with peace and love.

Mae Weaver Keith

Mae Weaver Keith, 84, of Wake Forest, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Wake County to the late William Henry Weaver and Effie Bailey Weaver. Mrs. Keith was a retired administrative assistant from CP&L/Progress Energy after 30 years of dedicated service and later served in the technical library for Corporate Communications. She was a loving mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2018, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Keith is survived by her son, Tim Keith and wife, Leanne, of Wake Forest; granddaughters, Lauren and Kendall Keith, both of Wake Forest; nephew, Terry Weaver and wife, Donna, of Wake Forest; great-niece, Christy Watkins; and a great-nephew, Brian Weaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elie Bryant “Bill” Keith Jr.; sisters, Melissa Weaver Robertson and Lillian Blanche Weaver; and a brother, William Henry Weaver Jr.

Major Jack Owen Repass Jr.

Major Jack Owen Repass Jr., 76, of Wake Forest was Promoted to Glory on June 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack O. Repass and Florine Broadwell Repass, and sister Jackie Watkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Major Janice Repass; daughters, Karen (Marvin) Wright, Heather (Josh) Kerr, and Carolyn (Butch) Mallard; sister, Linda (Wilton) Dickerson; brother-in-law, Paul Watkins; andand grandchildren Peyton, Meredith, Riley, Preston, Beth, Matthew, and Rebekah.
Major Jack O. Repass entered The Salvation Army School for Officers’ Training in Atlanta, Georgia in September 1966. He was the cadet assigned to pastor at the Atlanta State Penitentiary and commissioned as a Salvation Army officer on June 8, 1968. Lieutenant Jack Repass was appointed to assist in Savannah, Georgia. He married Lieutenant Janice Mills in 1969 and they served together in the following appointments: Corps officers-Atlanta Clark-Howell, Georgia, Waycross, Georgia, Albany, Georgia, Savannah, Georgia, Fort Myers, Florida. Area Commanders and Corps Officers-Tampa, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida. ARC Command-Louisville, Kentucky. Area Commanders and Corps Officers-Raleigh, Knoxville, Tennessee. Corps Officers-Bradenton, Florida.
After 40 years of service, Major Jack O. Repass honorably retired from active service on July 1, 2007. He was quoted as saying, “People speak of careers, but being a Salvation Army officer is not a career. It is a calling that doesn’t end until the Lord calls me home.”
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at The Salvation Army, 902 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made directly to The Salvation Army in Raleigh, NC.

Donnetta Jean Alston Estes

Donnetta Jean Alston Estes, 65, of 331 South Franklin Street expires on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Duke Medical Center in Durham. She was born on December 14, 1952 in Vance County to the late Frank and Susie Kearney.
The funeral service was professionally directed on Saturday at Woodland Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest with burial in the church cemetery.
Donnetta graduated from Weequahie High School in New Jersey and continued her education by receiving a degree from Montclair State University, allowing her to pursue her nursing career. After retirement she moved to North Carolina where she was united with Arthur Lee Estes.
Survivors are her husband, Arthur Lee Estes of the home; five children, Somaz, Tonia, Nicky, Arturo and Tony; four brothers and sisters; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
