William Lee Bunn
Raleigh
On Saturday, May 12, 2018, William (Bill) Bunn went home to dwell eternally with his Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Franklin County to the late George Oliver Bunn and Eunice Sykes Bunn. His life had a profound impact on the lives of all those he touched. He loved his family and friends, but most of all, he loved his Lord whom he faithfully served.
From a humble upbringing on the family farm, Booty (as he was known to his family and intimate friends) served his country with honor and went on to serve his clients at the Bradsher and Bunn insurance agency with integrity.
He sacrificially gave of himself and his heart to Shelby, his wife of 60 years. He adored his children and grandchildren, and admittedly found his greatest joy in spending time with them. Known for his hugs and his smile, he shared his warmth freely with them all. He also loved his brothers and sisters as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ at Friendship Baptist Church in Raleigh where he was a founding member and at Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh where he served as an elder and worshipped until the time of his home going. He mentored countless young couples over the years, many of whom recalled to him in his final days on earth the influence he had on their lives.
A lifelong fan of NASCAR, he fulfilled his desire to drive a race car at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, reaching a top speed of 165 mph. An avid water skier, he took up downhill skiing at the age of 55 which he mastered with equal skill.
He lived a full and rich life. We loved him deeply and will miss him immensely until we are once again united in heaven!
The funeral service was held Tuesday evening, May 15, 2018, at Christ Baptist Church. Burial was Wednesday morning at Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Louisburg.

Alison H. Mount
Raleigh
Alison Hamilton Mount met Jesus face-to-face on Saturday, May 12, 2018, following a courageous journey with leukemia over the last two months. However, Alison was truly celebrated by her family on her 84th birthday on April 30th!
Alison and her sister, Connie, were born and raised in Fieldsboro, New Jersey, to Frederick Dalton & Alice Edith Brettell Hamilton. She was surrounded with love from close-by family and enjoyed her friends at school and Fieldsboro United Methodist Church.
Alison always wanted to be a nurse and graduated from Mercer Hospital School of Nursing in Trenton in 1954. She continued as an RN at Mercer Hospital for 35 years before retiring. She even met her husband, Richard Leon Mount, at Mercer while caring for his mother. Rich and Alison were married after a short three-month courtship on April 9th, 1955. They lived in Trenton for eight years and welcomed two sons, Jim and David, before building a house and moving to Columbus, New Jersey. Alison raised her family there until moving to Raleigh in 2010 once her great-grandchildren began to be born in North Carolina!
Alison enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, playing bridge, cross-stitch, knitting, decorating homemade cakes and chocolate candy, as well as reading one to three books at a time! She was quite the hostess in her home, whether it was for book or bridge club, Sunday dinner, a P.E.O. meeting or the annual Christmas Eve party in Columbus. Even in Raleigh Alison was known for her hospitality, whether preparing dinner for neighbors in The Enclave or hosting a tea in her home for the sweet members of the Ruth Bible Sunday School from Bay Leaf Baptist.
She loved to travel and the State of Maine became a favorite for her and her Rich. They bought a “camp” in Portage Lake in 1989 and spent every summer there after Alison’s retirement. She quickly made lifetime friends in Maine and has relished those happy memories including welcoming her four grandsons with dozens of chocolate chip cookies when they came for a visit!
Alison was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her two sons and their families, as well as her sister and family. The sons and their families are, James Richard and Amy Mount of Raleigh, along with Stephen Hamilton and Robin Mount of Edenton plus great-granddaughters, Addison and Annabeth and Tyler Willis and Rachel Mount, also of Raleigh, along with great-grandsons, Leland, Grafton and Haddon, The other son, David Lawrence and Sheryl Mount, as well as their sons, Joshua David and Jeremiah David of Mount Holly, New Jersey, Alison’s sister, Constance and William Lloyd of El Cajon, California and their nine children and their families.
Family received friends on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Bay Leaf Baptist Church and celebrated Alison’s life at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
