News about the chamber

It will take 125 volunteers to staff Meet in the Street on Saturday, May 5. From helping the vendors get to where they need to be to handing out maps to the thousands of people who flock to downtown Wake Forest, we rely on volunteers to make it all happen.

Please consider volunteering for a two-hour shift on Saturday, May 5th. You can volunteer by yourself or with your family. If you have high school aged children, they can receive community service hours by volunteering.

Check out our SignUpGenius for available positions. Questions? Contact Carol Fekaris, (919) 556-1519 option 4.

Workplace sexual harassment and retaliation prevention training has never been as important as it is now. In North Carolina, 49.4 percent of all claims filed with the EEOC in 2017 were claims of retaliation. On April 25, a half-day training workshop will be held to educate the business community. This interactive and engaging training is designed to help employers recognize harassment and how to discourage and respond to it. Benita Clark, vice president for human resources and college safety at Wake Tech Community College, will lead this informative training.

The workshop is free for Wake Forest Chamber members and $25 for non-members, and will be held April 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Wake Electric’s community room, 100 South Franklin Street. Click for complete details and to register online.
