Tuesday night Launch Wake Forest, an entrepreneurial training program sponsored by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce, the Wake Forest Rotary Club, the Town of Wake Forest and Wake Tech, was kicked off in a meeting in Wake Electric’s community room.
Twenty-one students from the applicants were selected for the eight-week program where they will be guided by local successful entrepreneurs and business owners.
The program includes business training, eight classes of three hours each; micro-loans of up to $10,000 each; an assigned mentor from the business community; and networking with other entrepreneurs and business owners.
It was created by the Wake Forest Rotary Club to develop successful entrepreneurs who have had limited access to financial and business resources. The program is modeled after LaunchRaleigh, a successful community building program created in 2015 by Rotary leaders in Raleigh.
