Robert Westphal, 64, of Youngsville died Friday, February 23, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara Westphal; the adored son of Gertrude and the late Robert; and the loving brother of Jeanette (Carol), the late Edward, the late John and Frank (Jennifer); and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, was followed by a private interment.

Elsie Williams Hockaday, 81, of Wake Forest died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Hillside Nursing Center in Wake Forest.
She was born on March 19, 1936 in Wake County to the late Charlie and Susie Williams.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, February, 27, 2018 at Woodland Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Hannah Michaela Viall, 15, died Saturday, February 24, 2018. Hannah was born on March 26, 2002 in Wake Forest to Dean and Erika Viall.
Hannah was a sophomore at Heritage High School and an active member of Wake Forest Presbyterian Church. She loved cheerleading, dancing, music and being goofy. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for the hugs and smiles she delivered on a daily basis. Her smile lit up a room, her laughter was infectious and you couldn’t help but be in a good mood when she was around. She lived life to the fullest and her slogan was “Fly High,” which comes from her love of gymnastics.
The family will receive friends at Bright Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018. A church service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018,at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.
Hannah is survived by her parents, Dean and Erika Viall; her sisters, Haley and Kennedy; many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Wake Forest Presbyterian Church Youth Mission Scholarship Fund in honor of Hannah. She believed deeply in God, our Lord and Savior, and was looking forward to doing a mission trip this summer in Colorado with our youth group. She would have loved nothing more than to support this ministry.

Elizabeth Louise Harman “Betty Lou” Moody

Elizabeth Louise Harman (Betty Lou) Moody went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018.
She was born on November 21, 1930 to Gladys Gray Goodwin Harman and Robert Wilson Harman of Tazewell, Virginia. She had two brothers, Robert Wilson Harman Jr. and Jack Harlow Harman. Their family resided in Tazewell except for the years they lived at the base in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona where her father was the base photographer for the U.S. Army during WW II.
She graduated from Tazewell High School and then from State Teachers College, now known as Longwood University, in business and English Education, in 1952. She taught for over 25 years in her field, touching many young lives for the better.
In 1953 she met the love of her life, John Chrystor Moody, and they married in 1955. They moved to the Washington, D.C. area and raised their family in Laurel. Maryland. They had three children, John Chrystor Moody Jr. (Chris) married to June Moody, Lynn Harman Moody Rannels, married to Jay Rannels, and Ellen Grey Moody Fuhrer, now married to Robert Fuhrer.
Elizabeth and John retired back in Blackstone, Virginia and enjoyed many good years together while watching their family grow as they gained eight grandchildren during that time: Jaclyn, Christa, Jensen and Allie Rannels, and Jacob, Elize, John and Emma Yacovelli.
In their final years they decided to move to Wake Forest to be with family. It was here where she survived John by almost two years. She bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years with the help and support of her loving husband, her three devoted children and their spouses, and her wonderful involved grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband back in Blackstone at Butterwood United Methodist Church.

Christopher Dillon Averette, born February 2, 2018 in Chapel Hill at UNC Hospital passed away February 21, 2018 in the arms of his loving parents, Tony and Megan Averette.
He is greeted in Heaven by his paternal great-grandparents, James Robert Averette and Betty J. Crocker Ray and his maternal great-grandparents, Barbara Ann Robinson, Allen Lee Cramer and Mary Joyce Cramer.
He is mourned on this Earth by his paternal great-grandmother, Donna Richards, and friend, Ed Cartee of Youngsville; his grandparents, Chris and Mary Catherine Averette, and aunt, Tiffani Averette, of Louisburg; maternal grandparents, Jennifer Anne of Beaverton, Oregon, Kirk and Aida Welsh of Jurupa Valley, California; aunts, Janee Nichols of Anthem, Arizona, Lauren Wittry (Wes) of Hillsboro, Oregon, Kristin Wesp (Greg) of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Elizabeth Lee of Los Angles, California; and countless cousins and dear friends.
Megan and Tony would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses, especially Rhonda and Kerry at UNC Hospital.

Edward Milton Inners Jr., 68, passed away due to an accident on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was born January 6, 1950 In York, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mareta Frye Inners, and father, Edward Milton Inners Sr.
Ed leaves behind his wife, Donna Moore Inners; children; Edward M. Inners III, Thomas Inners, Angela Emig and Jennifer Haga; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Keller (Butch), Mareta L. Howell, Edda Inners, Vonda Busser (Ron), and Michelle Giannone (Sal); and brother, James Inners (Andrea).
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. Interment followed in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery.

Edward (Eddie) Inners was the owner and operator of Inners Shows, a multi-generational family business established in York in 1909. He was a loving father and devoted husband to his wife, his children and family. They all knew Eddie as a humble and generous man. He was also a loving “dad” to all the dogs and animals he and Donna rescued during their life together. His main hobby and focus was taking care of his show and carnival family.
Ed was a member of the NC Association of Agricultural Fairs, the Pennsylvania Showman’s Association, the Virginia Association of Fairs, OABA, and International Independent Showman’s League. He will be greatly missed, both in his industry and his extended family.

James ‘Jamie’ Allen Lee Jr.

James “Jamie” Allen Lee Jr., 52, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Orange County. He was a resident of Lake Royale in Louisburg, at the time of his death.
Jamie was born in Harnett County, the son of James “Jim” Allen Lee Sr. and Ruth Moore Lee. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Lee, and his step-mother, Janet Gupton Lee. Jamie is survived by his wife, Sheila Forsythe; daughter, Jessica Lee; mother, Ruth Moore Lee; sisters, Marti Lee Dunn (Jerry), Terri Lee Ferrell and Sheila Abbott (Ronnie Boyd); brother, Philip Blackley (Carmen); step-daughter, Stephanie Drowns (Jeff); step-son, Michael Forsythe; granddaughter, Sophie Drowns; and multiple nieces.
After 24 years in the United States Marine Corps, Jamie retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was also a member of the Freemasons.
A memorial service honoring his life was held Monday, February 26, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor.

Donald Damon Johncour

Donald Damon Johncour, 51, was called home to Christ after a brief illness on February 23, 2018. He was born March 29, 1966 in Canyon, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy (McManes) Johncour, their three children, Donald Payton, Garrett Gregory, and Alaina Paige Johncour; parents, Donald Barry and Deanna Kay (Hedrick) Johncour; sister, Heather (Johncour) and husband, Darren Goltz; brother, Duke Johncour and wife, Alicia; brother-in-law, Douglas McManes and wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Carolyn and husband, Ronald Emmrich; brother-in-law, Dennis and wife, Hannah McManes; sister-in-law, Terrie McManes; sister-in-law, Rosanne Anders; eight nieces; 10 nephews; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Damon was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas McManes; mother-in-law, Caroline (Hemnes) McManes; brothers-in-law Keith McManes and Gregory McManes; nephew, Tyler Anders; and his beloved grandparents, Kenneth and Eldora Hedrick and Paul and Pearl Stiffler.
In 2003 Damon became the founder and owner of North Carolina Orthopedics and Prosthetics Inc. He quickly became a well-known fixture in the medical community. He helped thousands of people regain their mobility and functionality.
Everyone who knew Damon immediately references his big heart. He always wanted everyone to feel included and never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel they were family the first time he met them. Damon is described as a gentle yet boisterous man. His amazing love for life inspired him to live each day to the fullest. He welcomed people with open arms and never wanted anyone to feel left out. He was a dreamer and determined to make things happen for everyone he knew. He is often described as “larger-than-life.” He brought smiles to everyone who knew him. He was very proud of his Pittsburgh roots and was the epitome of a Steeler’s fan. He would make famous Primanti Bros sandwiches for his fellow fans on game day. Nothing was status quo for Damon, who was well-known for his over the top culinary skills.
Damon had many talents and golf was one of his favorites. He was a founding member of the Hasentree Country Club. History will note that Damon Johncour had the very first hole-in-one at Hasentree. He was a legend to everyone at the club. “You’ve been Johncoured,” a favorite saying among the golfers at Hasentree, to describe coming up from behind to win, is often heard and will continue for years to come. Damon spent many happy and fun-filled hours golfing, cooking for, and being with his golf buddies.
Damon’s memorial service was held Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh.
Following Damon’s memorial service family and friends are invited to gather at the clubhouse at Hasentree Country Club.
Of all things we know, Damon treasured most his wife, Cindy, and his three children: Alaina, Garrett, and Payton. He would move any mountain in his way to make sure his family had the best of everything and never wanted for anything. Truth be told, his family, friends, and employees were all a part of his big heart and were truly loved.

Tessie Jones Jackson

On the morning of February 27, Tessie took her final breath from this life and entered into joy and peace forever to be with her loving Savior.
She was born to Johnny and Ida O’Neal Jones and was predeceased in death by her siblings: Gaston, Arlan, Lee, James, Kaddell and Esther. Waiting for her arrival was the love of her life, her husband, Robert Lee Sr., and her two sons, Benny Charles and Robert Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Kenneth) Jenkins; grandsons, Robert Jenkins and Allen (Charlotte) Jenkins, Randy (Julie) Jackson and Dean Jackson; granddaughter, Amy (Curt) Friese; great-grandsons, Wesley Nipper, Cole Jenkins and Zachary Jackson; and great-granddaughters, Kiersten Nipper, Lauren and Reed Jenkins, Kimberlie Heater and Taylor Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, March 1, 2018, in the chapel at Bright Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
Tessie was a charter member of the New Light Church of God and served in many capacities for over 60 years. She was an organizer and was instrumental in raising money for the North Carolina Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds in Raleigh. She served on the committee to erect the Wake Forest Veterans Memorial at Heritage.
Tessie retired from Aerotron Electronics as a supervisor and later worked as a hostess for Hampton Inn. She loved working in the garden, freezing vegetables and was known for her world famous fried chicken, hamburger steaks and collards.

Clarence S. “Bo” Barnes III, 69, died Sunday, February 25, 2018. Bo was born in Wake Forest to the late Clarence S. “Hap” Barnes Jr. and Marie Johnson Barnes.
Bo worked for 37 years as an employment counselor with the State of North Carolina Employment Security Commission.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the Wake Forest Town Cemetery.
Surviving are his children, Eric Duane Barnes (Brooke) of Greer, South Carolina, Joshua Paul Barnes of Wake Forest and Katie Lee Barnes of Raleigh; two sisters, Kathy Barnes Willis (Buddy) of Wake Forest and Anne Barnes Farmer (Randy) of Wake Forest; and close family friend, John Everette Jones.
