The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce reports that more than $3,000 has been raised for the chamber and its nonprofit partner Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry in the first week of the Community Raffle presented by Food Lion.

Raffle tickets are $50 each and give ticket holders the chance at one of 15 prizes, including a grand prize of $10,000.

Only 1,500 tickets will be sold, giving you a 1 in 100 chance to win a prize. Tickets can be bought in person at the Wake Forest Chamber, 350 S. White Street, or at B & W Hardware Company, 232 S. White Street. You can also purchase tickets online at https://go.rallyup.com/wfcommunityraffle.

This month the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee meeting is open to everyone and will feature a presentation on the State of Wake County. Wake County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Jessica Holmes is the guest speaker. The meeting will be held Tuesday, February 27, from 8:30 – 10 a.m. in the Wake Electric Community Room, 100 S. Franklin Street, Wake Forest. This is a free event, but registration is required. Please register online.

The Senior Lifestyle Expo will be held at Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s event will include 75 booth displays, food samples, door prizes and giveaways and more. Call the chamber or go to the website to learn how to become an exhibitor. There are a few booths left.

Being an exhibitor is a great way to build your name recognition, develop sales opportunities and grow your database. The event is geared toward both seniors and their adult children who are, or will eventually be, their caregivers.

Vendors can now apply for the 38th Meet in the Street arts and crafts festival which will be held in downtown Wake Forest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5. There are four types of applications based on the vendor participating: handmade arts/crafts, non-profit, food and downtown Wake Forest merchant. Others may qualify as a sponsor.
