Deborah Boyd Fuller Freeman, 64, of Wake Forest passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Franklin County to the late Russell Boyd Sr. and Peggy Neal Boyd.
Debbie was a former teacher at Wake Forest High School where she worked with the special education department. She was the former owner/operator of Antiques and More located in Raleigh’s Five Points neighborhood, Aerus Electrolux stores in Raleigh, Durham, Smithfield and Sanford and was currently employed with Johnson Lexus. As a true people person, Debbie never met a stranger. She had a gift for making people comfortable no matter the age.
Debbie is survived by her children, Greg Fuller and wife, Alicia, of Wake Forest and Shannon Fuller and boyfriend, Joel Zimmerman, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Nicolas Fuller and Sophia Fuller, both of Wake Forest; siblings, Linda Patton and husband, Thomas, of Louisburg and Russell Boyd Jr. and wife, Jennife,r of Henderson; nephews and nieces, Chris and Katie Patton and their children, Brad and Heather Patton and their children, Russ Boyd, Mallory Boyd and Blair Boyd; and her fur babies, Gigi and Mason.
Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Fuller Sr. and Keith Freeman, and her son, Leslie Fuller Jr.

Jennifer Alice Goldman

Jennifer Alice Goldman, 49, of Burlington passed away Tuesda, February 13, 2018, at Duke University Medical Center after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on November 28, 1968.
North Carolina was Jennifer’s home from 1969; she was employed for the past 27 years with Duke Orthopedics. As a loyal and hard worker, she made many friends and her co-workers became her second family. Jennifer enjoyed welcoming new coworkers into the Duke family, teaching them the fine art of working the schedule to help as many patients as possible.
Jennifer loved all of God’s creatures but was most fond of her two cats, China Rose and GusGus, and her dog, Jazzy. Jennifer loved music and was very creative with sketching and art being her favorite passions. Jennifer was also a masterful shopper who loved antique furniture. Everyone who met Jennifer knew within minutes that they had met “the sweetest” “kindest” person on the planet! She cared deeply for her family, animals, and friends. Jennifer will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, February 18, 2018, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Jeanne and Wayne Murray of Conowingo, Maryland and Jack and Penny Goldman of West Jordan, Utah; brother, David Goldman and wife, Jennifer, of Franklinton; niece and nephew, Brittany and Tyler Goldman; and extended family, Pat and Ross Harwood and their children, Mark, Lisa and Amy.

Justine Magdalen Sabella, 89, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 in Wake Forest, surrounded by her family. She was born in Jefferson County, Ohio to the late Adam Grula and Mary Suzo Grula. Before moving to Ormond Beach in 1994, she was a resident of North Canton, Ohio. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. An inurnment service will be held at a later date at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Sabella is survived by her children, Jeffrey Sabella and wife, Cherry, of North Canton, Deborah Lerner and husband, David, of Wake Forest, and Sandra Sabella of Ormond Beach; grandchildren, Casey, Carly and Connor Sabella and Jonathan and Christopher Lerner; sister, Mildred Romey of Toronto, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Albert J. Sabella, and sisters, Mary, Margaret, Carol, Veronica, and Ann.

Jack Thomas Upton

Jack Thomas Upton, 85, of Wake Forest went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Jack passed away at home with his loving family by his side.
Born and raised in Randolph County, he began work at Klopman Mills in Asheboro when he was 18. He worked 46 years in the textile industry and finished his career as an international consultant. Jack was a member of Needham’s Grove Church and taught a Men’s Sunday School class for 42 years. In 1977, he and Lola moved the family to Wake Forest, after he became the plant manager of Burlington Industries in Franklinton. In his later years, Jack was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Youngsville. He was a loving parent and grandparent and lived his life as a Christian example to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Garden.
. He was predeceased by his wife, Lola Comer Upton, in August 2014 after 61 years of marriage. Jack leaves behind two sons, Dr. Kevin Comer Upton and wife, Mitzi, and Jerome Thomas Upton and wife, Sherry, all of Wake Forest; four grandchildren, Samuel of Charlotte, Martha of New York City, Graham of Annapolis, Maryland and Emma Upton of Wake Forest. In addition, he is survived by Don and Jeannie Upton and Carolyn and Larry Earp, of Charlotte, along with their families. Jack is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ethelene Comer, Evelyn Caviness, Helen Ritter and Betty Caviness; brothers-in-law, Carroll Comer (Lynda) and Arnold Comer (Patsy).
He was preceded in death by relatives, Mittie and Ollie Williamson, Ethel and Colon Kennedy, Edith and Fred Yow, Tracy and Dorothy Comer, Bill and Juanita Comer, Mattie and Alton Needham, Ted Comer, Clarence Caviness, J.B. Ritter and Fred Caviness. He was blessed to have numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the special caregivers from Stay At Home Senior Care of Wake Forest and Kindred Hospice of Oxford, who devoted themselves to his care, as well as the special love and care provided by his neighbors.

Cecilia Lindado Jimenez, 90, died Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born February 8, 1928 in Colombia to the late Hector and Carmela Urina Lindado. Mrs. Jimenez moved to the United States in 1964.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo, who died in March 2017; her parents. as well as a granddaughter, Jacqueline Jimenez.
Mrs. Jimenez’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Wake Forest.
Surviving are two daughters, Lourdes Saxton and husband, Steven, of Saxon, New Jersey and Myriam Mackey and husband, Kevin, of Hilton Head, South Carolina; two sons, Jaime Jimenez and wife, Ruth, of Wake Forest, and Alexander Jimenez of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Jaime Jr., Alexandra, Samantha, Steven Jr., and Stephanie; and a great-granddaughter, Marilyn.

Charles Thomas Gregory, 57, died Monday, February 19, 2018. He was born March 21, 1960 in Raleigh to Fred. C. Gregory and the late Jean Sherron Gregory.
A private service will be arranged for a later date.
Charles is survived by his father, Fred C. Gregory; step-mother, Lucy V. Gregory; brother, Freddy L. Gregory; and sister, Vickie M. Gregory Breakey.
The family will be at the home of his father in Wake Forest.

Bobby Lynn Hall, 70, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Jones Hall and William Proctor Hall.
A graveside funeral service was held Friday afternoon, February 16, 2018, at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Gray officiating., Sheila Hall (David Murray) of Wake Forest; a son, Chad Hall (Denise) of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Erica Hall, Allison Hall, Jerry Ward, Kayla Murray and Whitney Murray; and a brother, Marvin Hall.
Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Janice Rae Douglass

Janice Rae Douglass, 87, passed peacefully on February 10, 2018. Born in East Chicago Hospital to Edna and Frank Gulliver on December 7, 1930, she grew up in Dundalk, Maryland and graduated from Mother Seton High School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1948.
She married her husband, William G. Douglass, later that year. Bill and Jan reared three sons in Maryland, William Gerard (Bill), Thomas Edward (Tom) and Matthew George (Matt) before they retired to North Carolina. They were together seventy years at the time of her passing.
Jan worked as a substitute teacher in the Baltimore County School System and as social director at a nursing home to help her sons pursue higher education. In retirement, Jan enjoyed playing golf and bridge and served her community as a board of elections volunteer and as a member of the Youngsville Woman’s Club. She enjoyed travel, live music, sewing, and reading, but her favorite time was that spent with her grandchildren watching them play sports, reading to them, or teaching them her baking skills.
Jan was preceded in death by her sons, Bill and Tom, and her sister, Carole Cross.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her son, Matt and his wife, Sandy; her grandchildren, Rachel (James) Nifong, Abby Douglass, Adrianne Douglass, Rebecca (Brandon) Winfield, Jake Douglass, Jenna Douglass, Sarah Douglass; and her great-grandsons, Andrew and Otto. Jan’s family cherishes her memory.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest.
Lillian Agro

Lillian Agro, 100, passed away at her home February 15, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Cicio) Sciara.
Lillian loved to dance and won an award in dance. She was a member of the Red Hat Club at Capital Towers and enjoyed her Italian food with a glass of wine every night for dinner. Lillian loved people and will be remembered for always having a smile on her face.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
Lillian has joined her brothers, Frank and John, sisters, Mary and Rose and her husband, Vincent “Jimmy” Agro, in heaven.
She leaves behind a son, Joseph Agro and his wife, Maggie, and daughter, Grace Reidinger and her husband, Frank; grandchildren, Gina Zipperian, Susan Agro Lanier and Nancy Agro Craig; six great-grandchildren, Christian, Max, Ethan, Andre, Avery and Logan; and her siblings, Josephine Ferricane and Nick Sciara.
Lillian will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.

Harley Shepherd Gilleland Jr.

Harley Shepherd Gilleland Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Stewart Health Center, Springmoor Retirement Community.
Harley was born March 17, 1935 in Statesville to the late Harley S. Gilleland Sr. and Lucille Love Fulp.
He graduated from Statesville High School in 1953 and then the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in physics in 1957. Following graduation, he entered the Graduate Training Program with Westinghouse Electric. He held the manager of marketing services, dry type and instrument transformer product manager and then marketing manager for the company’s power circuit breaker division in Trafford, Pennsylvania before returning to North Caroling as the manager of Westinghouse’s meter and low voltage instrument transformer division in Raleigh. After retirement, he continued working in the field as an independent consultant.
Cherishing his memory are his former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn J. Gilleland, Raleigh; daughter, Bonnie Walser (Michael), Raleigh; sons, Andrew Gilleland (Donna), Frisco, Texas and Scott Gilleland (Angie), Alpharetta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Allison Valentine (Bradley), Logan and Anna Walser, Jackson, Ava and Victoria Gilleland; sister, Betty Lu Long, Rockville, Maryland; and nieces, nephews and many many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 19, 2018, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church. Graveside services were held Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
Andrew, Scott and Jackson Gilleland, David and Tom Long and Mitchell Smith were pallbearers.
The family extends their deepest appreciation for the loving care Mr. Gilleland received at the Springmoor Retirement Community and to his devoted health aide, Monicalynne Eason.
Harley enjoyed the outdoors and hunting until shortly before his passing.
