William G. ‘Jerry’ Bailey

Raleigh

William G. “Jerry” Bailey, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 24, 2017. He was born in Raleigh on July 4, 1934 to the late William Andrew Bailey and Lillian Jones Bailey.

He graduated from Millbrook High School in 1953. He attended Campbell College where he met his wife of almost 56 years. Shortly after getting married, Jerry was drafted into the Army and served in Germany for two years. After returning, he worked in sales for several plumbing companies – Standard Supply Company, Atlas Supply and Noland. He was a lifetime member of Bay Leaf Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, watching sports and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack team. He was a sweet loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Lola T. Bailey and his twin brother, Terry Bailey, and his wife, Jane Bailey.

He is survived by his son, Edward G. Bailey; daughter, Gina B. Bunch and her husband, Paul Bunch; and grandchildren, Candace Bunch and her fiancé, Alec Dziwanowski, Molly Arnold and her husband, Tyler Arnold, Chelsea Bunch and Quentin Bunch.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church. Graveside services followed in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Sunrise at North Hills and Transitions Lifecare for their kindness and care of our loved one.

Richard Joseph Heigl

Youngsville

Richard Joseph Heigl, 78, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1939 in Winsted, Minnesota to the late Bernard and Pearl Meurer Heigl. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as a lifelong diesel mechanic. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents as well as his first wife, Betsy Poole Heigl.

Funeral services were Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Church of the Living God in Youngsville. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Withrow Heigl of Youngsville; three children, Richard Heigl of Topsail, Joseph Heigl and wife, Angie, of Raleigh, Sheila Hilliard and husband, Norbert, of Kittrell; five step-children, Cynthia Holbert and Tim Young of West Virginia, Wayne and Faye Winthrow of Wendell, Deborah and Paul Smith of West Virginia, Wade and Bridgeta Winthrow of West Virginia, Nikki and Jeff Crawford of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Ricky, Ashlee, Katee and Kyle; and many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Heigl and wife, Carol, of Wisconsin.
