During June the Wake Forest Inspections Department issued permits for the new Food Lion in Crenshaw Corners and a new office building for Duke health care offices as well as 51 permits for single-family home and 21 townhouses.
Wimco Corporation is building the grocery store in the commercial subdivision in the southeast corner where Durham Road (N.C. 98 business) and the N.C. 98 bypass meet. The fees were $65,423.39 and the 35,347 square-foot building will add $2.95 million to the tax base.
Brasfield & Gorrie are constructing the two-story steel-frame Duke health care building at 3000 Rogers Road. The fees were $142,664.46 and the 59,340 square-foot building will add $3.7 million to the tax base.
Dan Ryan Builders obtained permits for six townhouses on Sweet Annie Way in the Stonegate at St. Andrews subdivision; Capitol City Homes has permits for six townhouses in the Bishops Grant subdivision; and D.R. Horton has permits for nine townhouses in the Traditions subdivision. The fees for the 21 units totaled $16,777.25 and they will add $2,846.088 to the town’s tax base.
In addition, department inspectors approved the fit-ups for five new businesses: Zoom Dry Cleaning at 2815 Rogers Road, Kiko Hibachi Express at 1009 Stadium Drive, Unwined on White at 153 South White Street, Trident Technologies at 2623 Leighton Ridge Drive, and Capstone at 616 Doctor Calvin Jones Highway (N.C. 98 Bypass).
Four other new businesses were cleared for occupancy: Nancy Jo Photography at 145 Wait Avenue, Family Fitness & Self-Defense at 1241 South Main Street, Rachel’s Tao;pr Services at 12516 Capital Boulevard, and a sales office for SM Raleigh at 158 South White Street.
