Stroller Stride classes offered at Joyner Park

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is partnering with FIT4MOM to offer bi-weekly Stroller Stride classes at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.

FIT4MOM is the nation’s largest wellness company designed for moms, by moms. Dedicated to the Strength In Motherhood, FIT4MOM provides programs, classes and support for mothers throughout every stage of motherhood.

Wake Forest-area mothers are invited to participate in the next stroller-based total body workout at Joyner Park on Friday, June 23, at 9:30 a.m. Free to first-time Stroller Striders, this special class will commemorate FIT4MOM’s expansion into Wake Forest and officially welcome area moms to the program. In addition to offering a great workout, the event will include a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony and popsicle playgroup for the kids.

Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies. Workouts include power walking or jogging and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller and the environment. Taught by certified and specially trained fitness instructors, it offers a great workout for any level of exerciser. Stroller Strides instructors weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises specific to her role as mom. Expecting moms are welcome with their OB/Midwife’s permission.
Anyone planning to attend the June 23 class is encouraged to pre-register at http://midtownraleigh.fit4mom.com/. Participants are urged to dress to exercise and bring their stroller, a yoga mat/towel and water. Snacks and toys for your little one are helpful too.

“I am so thrilled to welcome new and returning moms to a location in the thriving community of Wake Forest,” said Missy Currin, owner of the FIT4MOM Midtown Raleigh franchise. “FIT4MOM creates a supportive community focused on well-being and fitness. We hope families in the area will join us to continue to promote healthy lifestyles in beautiful Joyner Park.”
