*Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry at 149 East Holding Avenue is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for food distribution and serves about 700 families in Wake Forest, Youngsville, Rolesville and their surrounding areas. *Walking Wednesdays in Wake Forest officially began May 31 and continues each Wednesday through Aug. 30. Each Wednesday throughout the 14-week series, walking group participants are invited to track and report their activity to their respective group captain, who reports the group’s total number of Walking Wednesday steps. Anyone without a fitness tracker may estimate their steps. Area residents are invited to take part in Walking Wednesdays as frequently or infrequently as they choose.
*Family Movie Night at Joyner Park will continue Saturday, June 24, at 8:30 p.m. with a showing of The Secret Life of Pets. Children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal. The movies are free and open to everyone.
*The 44th Wake Forest Fourth of July Celebration will be held over two days, Monday and Tuesday, July 3 and 4, with the Stadium Show and Fireworks Display the evening of July 3 and the Children’s Parade, Art-in-the-Park and Games-in-the-Park beginning at 10:30 a.m. July 4. *The Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo will return on Sunday, July 23, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Renaissance Plaza on Brooks Street with 17 trucks and a beer tent provided by Brooks Street Bowl.
