Ralph Steven Dickinson, 63, died Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born March 9, 1953 to the late William Elbert and Iris Lowery Dickinson. Steve was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for many years at the Social Security office.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Falls Community Cemetery in Wake Forest.
Surviving are two brothers, William Marvin Dickinson of Wake Forest and Charles Edward Dickinson of Youngsville.

Horace Linwood Macon
Wake Forest
Horace Linwood Macon, 89, of Wake Forest passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Durham VA Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born just prior to the great Depression to Edwin Grady Macon (Sr.) and Letha Viola Smith Macon. He graduated from Wake Forest High School and attended one year at Wake Forest College (then in Wake Forest). At 18 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. After serving a three-year tour he farmed for one year and then reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Shortly thereafter he was sent to Japan on occupation duty.
The Korean War began a few months later and he was sent there for 14 months of combat duty where he was awarded several medals and awards. During his service of 6 ½ years he received numerous medals including the American Theater, WW II Victory, Good Conduct, Asiatic Pacific Theater, Japanese Occupation, Korean Service with three battle stars, Army Commendation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, American Presidential Unit Citation, two Korean Presidential Unit Citations, and in 2000 received a letter and Korean Presidential Medal from the President of South Korea. He left the Air Force as a technical sergeant in 1953.
He married Patsy M. Mayfield of Anderson, South Carolina in 1954. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; children, Melody M. Allen (Luke), Robin M. Whitt (Mitch) and Horace Macon Jr. (Amy); grandchildren, K. Sean Finch (Jen Vieceli), Jennifer Ball (Mitch), Sean Allen, Genevieve Dasher (Jimmy), Nicholas Macon and Emily Macon; great-grandchildren, Carson Ball, Shilo Carter and Mason Ball; brothers, John Macon, Quinten Macon (Sara), Grady Macon (Joyce) and George Macon (Barbara); and sister, Catherine Darr. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Garrett Whitt; twin sister, Doris Glenwood Macon; and brother, E.G. Macon Jr. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and a life member of Wake Forest (Masonic) Lodge 282 AF & AM.
Memorial contributions can be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2017, at the church.

Yvonne Davis Keith
Wake Forest
Yvonne Davis Keith, 88, of Wake Forest died Saturday, February 11, 2017. Ms. Keith was born in Wake County to the late Jesse E. and Minetta O’Neal Davis. She was a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church, and worked as a teacher’s assistant at Wake Forest Elementary School for many years.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Christopher Walker officiating.
Mrs. Keith is survived by her sisters, Lillian D. Watkins of Raleigh and Jessie D. Busse of Minnesota.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Edward Keith; her son, Walter Edward Keith II; and her brother, Chester Davis.

Louise Aderhold Bowman

Mrs. Louise Aderhold Bowman passed away February 9, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born in Gwinnett County, Georgia, on December 15, 1918 to the late Thomas Arthur Aderhold and Lessie Drummond Aderhold.
She was a lifelong resident of Atlanta until moving to Wake Forest in 2004. She attended the Draughon School of Commerce and was a secretary at Rich’s Department Store in Atlanta for 23 years. She was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. Mrs. Bowman was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and friends.
Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ed H. Bowman Sr., and her brother, W. O. Aderhold.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed Jr. and Betty Bowman of Dallas, Texas, Ron and Dorothy Bowman of Wake Forest and Bill and Nell Bowman of Asheville; seven grandchildren, Christina, Brooke, and Matthew of Dallas, Jonathan of Nashville, Emily and her husband, Rob, of Wake Forest and Catherine and Michael of Asheville; one sister, Betty Burnett of Mebane; sister-in-law, Joan Aderhold of Snellville Georgia; and nieces and nephews.

Linda Frye O’Neal Pearce

Linda Frye O’Neal Pearce, 71, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 9, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Franklin County to John Richard Frye and Ethel Mae Harris.
Linda worked many years with Mallinckrodt Inc. until working part-time at Walmart in Wake Forest. She loved her family dearly and for us to spend time together was the most important to her.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Lisa Alexander and husband, Cecil; her son, John Scott O’Neal; grandchildren, Lee Hobbs, Keiven Alexander, Cameron O’Neal, Liberty O’Neal, Caden Alexander; and great-,granddaughter Brylie Anne Terwilliger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Pearce.

Ruth Estelle Hicks Murray

Ruth Estelle Hicks Murray, 66, passed away Thursday morning, February 9, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Charlie Hicks and Lizzy Estelle Honeycutt Hicks.
Ruth worked 40 years at Nationwide Insurance. She loved to spend time with her family and grandkids.
A funeral service was held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2017, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 44 years, Danny Ray Murray; daughters, Crystal M. Tilley and husband, Chris, and Toni Bowden and husband, Derek; granddaughters, Madison and Bayleigh Tilley and Taylor Bowden; grandson, Reid Bowden; step-granddaughters, Emily and Ashlyn Bowden; sisters, Lynda Faye Creutuzburg (Earl), Kitty Pulsifer (Richard); brother, Larry Hicks (Ernestine); sister-in-law, Carolyn Hicks; four nieces; two nephews; several special cousins and friends; and mother-in-law, Nola Murray.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Linwood Hicks.
The family would like to thank everyone for the support you have shown them over the last year as Ruth fought her courageous battle with lung cancer.

Edward James Fuhrer, 28, died on Monday, February 6, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Nassau County, New York, the son of Lorraine Roughley and Robert J. Fuhrer.
A funeral service was held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning, February 11, 2017, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed in Greenmount Cemetery in Wendell.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Lorraine Roughley and husband, Robert P. LaMonte, of Wendell, his father; Robert J. Fuhrer and wife, Ellen, of Raleigh, sister; Jaqueline R. Fuhrer of Morrisville, a brother; Robert T. Fuhrer of New York, New York; step-siblings and many friends and extended family.

Darrell Bryant Rice Sr.

Darrell Rice, 69, of Youngsville passed away on Tuesday morning, February 7, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Nellie Glenn Rice and Tilman Bryant Rice.
Darrell was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was retired from N.C. State University with 37 years of service. He was an avid N.C. State Wolfpack fan, outdoorsman and an overall great man. “He was our hero.” Darrell was a former member of the N.C. National Guard and a former board member of the Bunn Fire Department.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, February 10, 2017, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Haley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie Lloyd Rice; sons, Bryant Rice and wife, Aimee, of Zebulon, and Alex Rice and wife, Heather, of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister, Carolyn Pearce and husband, Wilbur, of Youngsville; a brother, Steve Rice and wife, Gayle, of Youngsville; and grandchildren, J.D., Luke and Cody Rice of Zebulon, and Garrett and Jacob Rice of Knoxville.

Jean Patricia Ketcham
Youngsville
Jean Patricia Ketcham, 89, passed away on February 6, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Washington, D.C., on October 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Samuel and Thelma Lantz.
Mrs. Ketcham was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Jean married her husband, Walter, and they resided in the Washington, D.C., area where they raised their four sons. Later, she moved to Raleigh and Tampa, Florida, with Walter, and finally Youngsville following his death.
Preceding her in death, beside by her husband, was her son, Rick.
Mrs. Ketcham is survived by her three sons, Gary and wife, Marcy of Shingle Springs, California, Tim and wife, Debi of Creedmoor and John of Younsgville. She had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
