Ronald R. Bender

Ronald Reinnerth Bender, 75, of Youngsville passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home. He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late George G. Bender and Anne Marie Reinnerth Bender.
Mr. Bender was a graduate of Middle State Tennessee and was an executive in the apparel manufacturing industry for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in his younger years. He was a decorated horseshoe pitcher, having played all over the country, and was also instrumental in building horseshoe courts. Ron had a great love for motorcycles, classic cars, sports, and books. Janie and Ron collected and sold books during their tenure together as a hobby. Lake Geneva was a special place for Ron and he spent some time there every summer with close friends and family enjoying their friendships.
Pastor Phil Brantley will conduct a private burial service with military honors to be held at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.
Mr. Bender is survived by his life partner, Janie Howell Raper; daughters, Krisanne Mari Bender LoGalbo and husband, Michael, of Tucson, Arizona and Erin Shae Bender Neifer and husband, Scott, of Norwalk, Ohio; son, Ganon Gwinn Bender of Floyd, Virginia; special friends, Michael A. Strickland and wife, Angie, and Lillie Grace Strickland, all of Wendell; grandson, Tyler Shields of Norwalk, Ohio; brothers, Edward G. Bender and wife, Diane, and Dale A. Bender and wife, Marlene, all of New Castle, Pennsylvania; and sister, Georgia Anne Hadley & husband Dean of Springfield, MO.
The family wants to thank all who visited and expressed their love and care for him during his illness. Special thanks go to his close friends Milton Kirsch, Gary Snyder, Bill Lavender, Spencer Brown, Tom and Jan Buckley, along with the garage crew, Mary and John Howell, Marshall and Phyllis Clements and the Raleigh Bottle Club members.

Tony Earl Carter

Tony Earl Carter, 59, of Franklinton, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Rex Hospital. He was born in Durham County, the son of the late Alfred Earl and Helen Snead Carter. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Jeannie Lentz Carter of Franklinton; daughter, Jamie Morris, and her husband, Steven Howard, of Valley Center, Kansas; grandchildren, Toni Maxine Morris and Stevanni Willow Howard; brothers, Tim Carter and Neal Carter of Franklinton; sisters, Linda Marshall and Becky Light, both of Wake Forest; half-sisters, Joyce Jackson of Youngsville, and Carrol Dellinger of Franklinton; and a half-brother William Toone of Zebulon. He was preceded in death by half-brothers Donnie Toone and Claude Carter and half-sisters Shirley Pearce and Edna Falls.
A service celebrating Tony’s life was held at Grace Fellowship Church of God in Youngsville at 2:00 pm Saturday October 22, 2016.

Ronald Lee Coil

Ronald Lee Coil, 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on October 13, 2016. Born on April 28, 1937 in St. Mary’s, Ohio, Ron was the son of Arthur and Mabel Coil.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Stockford officiating. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Garden.
Ron was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan Esther Finnell, who he married in 1960.
Ron is survived by his son, Doug Coil and wife, Paula of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Dawn Hoffman and her husband, Allan, of Jacksonville, Florida; his brothers, Wayne Coil of Cleveland, Ohio and Jerry Coil of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica and Heather; and seven grandchildren.
Ron was a man of faith in Christ, and shared that faith with love, kindness and generosity with his family and with all those he came into contact.
Ron requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.

Herbert Finner Faison

Herbert Finner Faison, 93, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home. He was born October 31, 1922 in Wake County to the late Charlie Hampton Faison and Frances Watkins Faison. Herbert retired after 30 years as a pin frame operator from Burlington Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Rae Faison, his parents and siblings.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest. Burial followed in Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Herbert is survived by a daughter, Tammy Harris and husband, Duane, of Zebulon; two sons, Cliff Faison and wife, Brenda, and Gil Faison and wife, Pam, all of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Sonya Coup, Tony Faison, Mark Faison, Dana Ray and Jonathan Taylor; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Anna, Austin, Elizabeth, Brittany, Robert, Zack, Lacy, Cameron, Tyler and Presley; great great-granddaughter, Kelsie; step-grandson, Justin Taylor; step-great-grandchildren, Anna and Joy; a special sister-in-law, Ann Faison of Wake Forest; and his two buddies, Bella and Tickle..

Hazel Burnette Hailey

Hazel Burnette Hailey, 91, died Sunday afternoon, October 16, 2016, at the Franklin Oaks Nursing Center in Louisburg. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Viola Beatrice Barham Burnette and Robert Addison Burnette, and was preceded in death by her husband; Morris “Scrap” Hailey.
A funeral service was held at Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2016, in the Youngsville Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Stratton officiating. Burial followed in Youngsville Town Cemetery.
Mrs. Hailey is survived by her son, Randy Morris Hailey of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jenifer Akers and husband, Andy, of Indiana and Amanda Cobb of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Ava and Bowen Akers; and a sister, Beatrice Marie Hollowell of Greensboro.
Friends visited with the family an hour before the service at the Youngsville Baptist Church.

Ledagole Ryals Hintze

Ledagole Ryals Hintze, 93, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Know to everyone as Leda, she was born May 26, 1923 in Johnston County to Mattie Raynor and Lon Ryals, one of eleven children. Anxious to get away from the farming life, she moved to Durham for a brief time and later moved to Bethesda, Maryland, where her uncle William Aldridge Royal resided. She met the love of her life, Fritz Hintze, while working there. They married in 1942 and they shared 71 years together before Fritz passed away in 2013.
Fritz joined the Marine Corp shortly after they married and was stationed in the Pacific. Leda remained in Quantico, Virginia, where she gave birth to their first child, Donald Hintze. After the war, they moved to Takoma Park, Maryland, into a new home financed by the VA. Two more children were born to Fritz and Leda, Sue Ellen and Edward Douglas.
Leda stayed at home to care for the children, but she was always working selling Stanley products, Avon products, sewing for her children, gardening and canning to keep the pantry full. Her children were well dressed, her house was spotless and all attended Grace United Methodist Church.
After her children were in school, she obtained a realtor license and worked for several companies before opening her own firm. She was a star salesperson and Fritz later joined her to manage the very successful business. They retired in 2000 and moved to The Heritage in Wake Forest. They became members of Wake Forest United Methodist Church.
Graveside services were held Friday, October 21, 2016, in Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Highway 50, Benson.
Leda is survived by her sons, Don of Florida and Edward of Maryland; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters, her beloved Fritz and a daughter, Sue Ellen.

Thomas Dean Lynch, “The Dude,” 57, died Sunday morning, October 16, 2016. Mr. Lynch was born in Raleigh, the son of Robert G. Lynch Jr. and Gladys E. Lynch.
He was master motorcycle mechanic for Shelton’s Harley Davidson. Mr. Lynch was a retired member of the Piedmont Chapter of the Phoenix motorcycle club.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife of 18 years Holly A Lynch; his father, Robert G Lynch Jr.; a brother, Robert G Lynch III; sister-in-law, Leighann Lynch; and nieces; Ashleigh Andersen and Logan Lynch.
The family will hold a memorial service celebrating his life at the home of Robert G Lynch Jr. and the late Gladys E Lynch at 649 North Dunn Street in Angier.

Kenneth Bernard McDaniel, 68, died Monday morning, October 24, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Arlene McDaniel Priore and the late Charlie McDaniel.
Mr. McDaniel was the owner/operator of an insulation construction company.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, October 27, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie McDaniel; a son, David Alan McDaniel; daughter, Melissa Dawn McDaniel; mother, Arlene Priore McDaniel; grandson, Cody Austin McDaniel; granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth McDaniel; sisters, Bonnie Taylor and husband, Ervin, and Linda Bullard; nieces and nephews, Kady DeVaun and husband, Jeff, Greg Ward and wife, Shauna, Mark Bullard and wife, Corie, Jason Bullard, Julie Hesse and husband, Don, Lori Mckoy and husband, Greg, and Carrie Payne; and sister-in-law, Diane Ward.

Raul Cristina Pinheiro, 86, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital-Durham. He was born on February 8, 1930 in Portugal to the late Raul C. Pinheiro and Laura Cristina Pinheiro. Mr. Pinheiro retired from the Portuguese Navy. Having grown up on the coast of Portugal Mr. Pinheiro had great love and respect for the ocean. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Monday morning, October 24, 2016, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pinheiro is survived by his wife Julia Pinheiro; children, José Pinheiro and wife, Michelle, of Wake Forest and Maria Relvas and husband, José, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Catarina “Cathy” Nguyen and husband, Tu, Michael Relvas and wife, Ashley, Amanda Pinheiro, Laura Pinheiro, Christopher Pinheiro and Alex Pinheiro; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Green, Michael Green, Brooks Relvas, Kurtis Nguyen, Annalise Nguyen, Sean Nguyen and Jordan Nguyen.

Joseph Lewis Robinson, 33, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016. He was born in Vance County, the son of Debra Reavis and Henry Michael Robinson. He was a graduate of Franklinton High School and was an employee with Trulite Glass & Aluminum Company.
A funeral service was held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning October 20, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his father, Henry Michael Robinson; and his mother, Debra Reavis; a brother, Mike Robinson; a sister, Tammie Robinson; nieces, Jasmine Robinson, Courtney Wagner and Cassidy Wagner; nephew, Joshua Costal; and sister-in-law, Virginia Robinson.

Lori Louise Thomas

Lori Louise Thomas, 32, of Wake Forest died Sunday, October 23, 2016. Lori was born July 30, 1984 in Raleigh and raised by her parents, Alvin H. Thomas and Sandra Scott Thomas.
She has attended Miller Mott College for 2 ½ years and was set to graduate in December as a medical assistant. Lori taught preschool at Kids “R” Kids in Morrisville for five years.
She was a member of Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, where her father is the minister. Lori’s faith was unwavering and her courageous battle overwhelming to all who knew her. Lori was a loyal and devoted NC State Wolfpack fan and a supporter of the Wake County SPCA.
Lori was diagnosed with Lupus 18 years ago and fought a long and courageous battle, undergoing dialysis for the last eight years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Lori is survived by her parents, Alvin H. and Sandra Scott Thomas of Wake Forest; a brother, Matt Thomas, and Kelly McDaniels of Wilmington; two nephews, Jackson and Waylon Thomas of Wilmington; a very special uncle, AB Scott and wife, Gloria, of Whitsett; numerous cousins; and her greatest love, Chubby.
