Susan Carol Wilkerson, 53, of Wake Forest, formerly of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at home.
A funeral service was Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with the Rev. Roger Whaley and the Rev. John Grasso officiating. Interment followed at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Susan is survived by her husband, George Wilkerson of the home; son, Dakota Wilkerson of Greenville; daughter, Katelyn Wilkerson of North Hollywood, California; mother, Virginia (Clements) Deiniger, of Newport; brother, Tommy Deininger of Newport; sisters, Lisa Carbonell of Newport and Cindi Crossling of Austin, Texas; nephews, Justin Deininger, Colton Deininger, Gage Dutkin, Ridge Dutkin, and Brody Moots; and nieces, Lauren Moots, Cheyenne Deininger, and Aubree Moots.
She was preceded in death by her father, L.J. “Chick” Deiniger of Newport.

Sheryl W. Bagnal, 54, of Wake Forest died Friday, September 30, 2016. Sheryl was born March 16, 1962 in Newport News, Virginia, to Arthur and Jo Bell Wildman. Sheryl graduated from Warwick High School and South Seminary College in Virginia. In Newport News, Sheryl was active and attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
She was a substitute teacher in the Wake County public school system, and she also taught at Wake Forest Baptist Pre-School, Primrose School and Kids R Kids. Sheryl was a devoted and very active member of Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship Church. She was an avid outdoors lover and also loved pets and animals.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, at Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship Church in Youngsville with Pastor Dick Graves officiating.
Sheryl is survived by her daughter, Drue M. Bagnal of Wake Forest; her parents, Arthur and Jo Bell Wildman of Clayton; a brother, Art Wildman and wife, Rita, of Jacksonville, Florida; her beloved church family; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Sheryl had an infectious smile and laugh that will be sadly missed. She was dedicated to her church and never missed church services and events.

Robert “Bobby” Gill Bartholomew
Rolesville
Robert “Bobby” Gill Bartholomew, 84, of Rolesville passed away at home on Monday, September 26, 2016. He was born in Franklin County on April 19, 1932, the son of the late Joseph James and Elizabeth Winn Bartholomew.
Bobby was a lifelong farmer, his true passion. Along with his wife, Joyce, and son, Mike, by his side, he could always be found working in the tobacco fields. Anyone who ever worked for Bobby would agree that he was happiest when he was in the field or barning tobacco. There was always plenty of Pepsi and Nabs to go around. Bobby will be most remembered for his kind and gentle nature.
His many nieces and nephews thought he was the sweetest and most interesting person ever. He was always happy and on their team. Nobody got in trouble at Bobby and Joyce’s house.
Bobby was a longtime member and deacon at Rolesville Baptist Church. He was also a proud Army veteran who fought in the Korean War.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday, September 28, 2016, at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Bobby is survived by, his wife, of 53 years, Joyce Cooper Bartholomew; a son, Michael Bartholomew; Mike’s girlfriend, Shannon Hall, and her daughter, Devon Watson; brother, Richard Bartholomew and wife, Shirley; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bartholomew and Georgia May Adams; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, James and Ben Bartholomew, and sisters, Susan Ayscue and Patsy Hicks.
Friends visited with the family one hour prior at the Family Life Center at Rolesville Baptist Church, and other times at the family home.

James P. Carroll, 62, passed away Tuesday evening at WakeMed. He was born in Washington County, Texas, the son of Christina Saavedra and the late James Ray Carroll.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville with the Rev. Wes Bailey officiating.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Kimberly Adams Carroll; his children, Jason Michael Carroll and wife, Wendy, Jonathan Wayne Carroll and wife, Elizabeth, Jamie Lynn-Carroll Philibert and husband, Derrick, Forest Dean Casey and Gabrielle Dawn Casey; mother, Christina Saavedra Carroll; brothers, Billy Ray Hood, Michael Hood and Paul Hood; half-brother, Chris Carroll; half-sister, Michelle Hood Clevinger; and grandchildren, Gavin Michael Carroll, Savanna Nicole Carroll, Stori Paige Carroll, Jason Weldon Carroll, Phoenix Rain Philibert, Samatha Kelsey Carroll, Jonathan Titus Carroll and Jayden James Philibert.

Matthew “M.D.” Langston, 83, passed away suddenly Thursday, September 29, 2016. A native of Franklin County, he was the son of the late Henry and Sally Langston. “M.D.” worked as a plumber until his retirement.
The funeral service was held Sunday October 2, 2016, at Bright Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Genes Family Cemetery in Rolesville
Along with his parents, “M.D.” was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gray Hagwood, and a brother, Henry Langston.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melba Langston; sons, Bobby Langston and wife, Cindy, Henry Langston and wife, Belinda, and David Langston and wife, Kathy; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Joan F. Liegey, 85, passed away at home after an extended illness. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Joan worked as an administrative assistant for a legal office. Joan was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Claus.
A funeral mass was held Monday, October 3, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Liegey, and a sister, Dorothy Farrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudine Snyder and husband, Stephen; sons, Paul Liegey Jr. and wife, Marcia, Denis Liegey and wife, Christine, Tim Liegey and wife, Robin, and Stephen Liegey and wife, Bonnie; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jean Edwards Pulley, 83, of Wake Forest passed away Tuesday evening, September 27, 2016, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
She was born in Nash County, the daughter of the late Bernard Hugh Edwards and Gladys Lang Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, William Richard “Bill” Pulley, and son, Stanly Richard Pulley; sisters, Vera Mae Dozier, Claudine Daniel; and brothers, Bernard Hugh Edwards Jr. and Joseph Edwards.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Friday morning at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Janet Eleanor Pyritz, 79, of Wake Forest passed on to the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Born April 1, 1937 in Richland, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Eleanor Bell Hudson, Janet worked for over 25 years as a medical secretary. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Nick and Annabelle.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 3, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. John Wright presiding. Burial followed at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.
Janet is survived by her husband, of 62 years, Jack E. Pyritz Sr. of Wake Forest; children, Jan Pyritz of Michigan, Ann Margulis and husband, Bruce, of Michigan, Gail Carpenter and husband, Frank, of Raleigh, Jack Pyritz Jr. and wife, Patty, of Wake Forest; and four grandchildren, Arianna, Bruce Jr., Jack and Tiffany.
