Beverly Renee Martin

Beverly Renee Martin left this life surrounded by her family and friends on February 26, 2016. She battled breast cancer like a warrior, but her Heavenly Father called her home.
Bev was born in Oxnard, California, on October 20, 1962. She graduated from Huron High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1980 and attended Ventura College in Ventura, California. She had been a resident of Raleigh since 2006.
Bev leaves behind many people who love her very much: her husband, Kelly; daughters, Kayla Madison (Eric) of McKinney, Texas, Clarissa and Kenna Martin of Raleigh; mother, Joyce deWet of Raleigh; father, Loren Blair and stepmother, Tina Blair, of Wake Forest; grandson, Carson Madson and granddaughter, Hadley Madson, both of McKinney, Texas; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Theresa Blair, and grandparents, Art and Susanna Blair and Lloyd and Estella Green.
Bev was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She loved her daughters passionately and worked tirelessly to give them wonderful lives. She felt they were her greatest accomplishment. They truly were, and will continue to be.
Bev was a genuinely special person. She was kind and generous to everyone she met and compassion knew no bounds. We will miss her sweet spirit, but we know she has gone to a much better place and is at least free from suffering and pain.
Bev was an employee of Wake County School District as a Coordinator of the Before and After School Program at Pleasant Union Elementary School and was also a substitute teacher. She loved the children and they loved her.
Bev was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved working in the Young Women’s Program. She was a good example to the girls she worked with and made a difference in many lives.
A celebration of Bev’s life was held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1524 Jenkins Road, Wake Forest. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Katie Pearce Allen
Creedmoor
Katie Pearce Allen, 94, of Creedmoor went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was born April 14, 1921, in Wake County, the daughter of the late George Wesley Pearce and Clovenia Wilkes Pearce. In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her three children, Walter, Henry and James Allen; her husband, Brotherton Allen; and by her companion for 50 years, Earl Thomas Saunders.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016, at New Light Baptist Church, Wake Forest with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Pulley and the Rev. Dr. Mike Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Katie is survived by seven children, Betty Ferguson, Willie Allen and wife, Sharon, Donald Allen and wife, Dorthey, Ricky Allen and wife, Cheryl, Nita Barnes, Ann Goss and husband, David, and Louis Allen and wife, Jewel; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenny Whitlock, Chris Loyd, Dennis Broyal, Andy Kearney, Terry Whitlock and Edward Allen, D.J. Loyd was an honorary pallbearer.

James Harold Daniel

James Harold Daniel, 73, of Raleigh went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born October 29, 1942, in Wake County, the son of Judd Wilson Daniel Sr. and Ethel Haywood Alford. James graduated in 1961 from Leland High School where he was a star basketball player and continued his education at Wingate University where he earned an associate degree.
James began his career as a ballroom dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Raleigh in 1963, where he was the recipient of many awards throughout his 32-year career. He also worked in security management at Cisco for 13 years.
James loved going to the movies, dancing and music, particularly shag dancing, he enjoyed the SOS in North Myrtle Beach
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016, at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
James is survived by his wife of 33 years, Theresa Watkins Daniel; a sister, Ann Bunn and husband, Bobby, of Orland, Florida; a brother, Wilson Daniel of Durham; sister-in-law, Shirley Watkins and husband, Scott, of Wake Forest; numerous nieces and nephews; and he is also survived by his three loving companions, Prince Galahad, Princess Guinevere and Sir Lancelot.
Memorial donations in James memory may be made to the Rolesville Baptist Church.

Marguerite Chappell Woodlief, 77, of Wake Forest, a believer in Christ, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, February 25, 2016. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Daisy Parrott Chappell and Harvey William Chappell Sr.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2016, at the Richland Creek Community Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
Mrs. Woodlief is survived by her husband, Bobby Woodlief; a daughter, Vickie Cribb and husband, Randy, of Raleigh; a son, David Satterwhite and wife, Dawn, of Wake Forest; brother, H.W. Chappell Jr. and wife, Jean, of Franklinton; grandchildren, Ashley Satterwhite and fiancé, Randy Eatmon, and Brooke Satterwhite; nephews, Mike Chappell and wife, Linda, Terry Chappell and wife, Cathy, and Drew and Brandon Woodlief; and brothers-in-law, Walter Woodlief and wife, Rose, and Harold Woodlief and wife, Joann.

Winta Mitchell Hill

Winta Mitchell Hill, 53, of Wake Forest died unexpectedly February 25, 2016. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Richard Addison and Carrie Bradley Mitchell. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a devoted and dependable caregiver. She will be missed dearly.
Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor John Monderen and Rev. Joey Chafton officiating.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Tommy R. Hill, of the home; children, Tommy R. Hill Jr., of Wake Forest, Savannah H. Davis and her husband, Cody, of Wake Forest, Timothy Hill of Wake Forest; brothers, R. A. Mitchell Jr., and his wife, Cathy, of Zebulon, Joseph Mitchell, and his wife, Laverne, of Wake Forest; sisters-in-law, Tammy Allen and her husband, Mike, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sandy Alsharawneh and her husband, Ahmad, of Raleigh; niece, Rachel Allen; nephews, Toby Mitchell and his wife, Jessi, Richard Mitchell, and his wife, Erica, Eyad Alsharawneh, and David Allen, and his fiancé, Hannah.
In addition to her parents, Winta was preceded in death by her niece, Tammy Mitchell.

Patricia Anne Snyder
Raleigh
Patricia Ann Snyder, 77, of Raleigh passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, into a large, loving family, daughter of the late James and Emily Cooper. Pat moved to the Washington, D.C., area in 1959 and worked in the insurance industry for 22 years before working at Children’s National Medical Center until her retirement in 2012. She then moved to Raleigh and made many friends at the Gardens of Wakefield.
Pat was a dedicated member of the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International. She was a trailblazer in the National Capital Group, being the first female to be a member, hold office and receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. She attended over 25 national conventions and made many lifelong friends.
Pat is survived by her children, Michelle Kurtz of Raleigh, Glen Gleason and wife, Holly, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Joe Gleason and wife, Diane, of Waldorf, Maryland; siblings, Ann, Marie, Kit, Dee, Jeanne, and Carol; grandchildren, Rachel and Lisa Kurtz, Josh, Drake (Veronica), and Jonah Gleason; her beloved grandpuppies; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Thomas Gleason and Barry Snyder; a brother, James; and a sister, Barbara.
A memorial mass was held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Inurnment was in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
