Peter John ‘Pete’ Mickschutz Jr.

Peter John Mickschutz Jr., aka: Pete, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2015. He was born on August 31, 1943, to Peter J. Mickschutz Sr. and Alice C. (nee Harvey) in Trenton, N.J.
Pete graduated from Hamilton High School West in Trenton, N.J., in 1962. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years. Pete began his 28-year IBM career in 1965 in Dayton, N.J. He and his family moved from Chesterfield, N.J., to Culpeper, Va., in 1971 with his IBM transfer to Manassas, Va. One final transfer to the Research Triangle moved Pete and his family to Wake Forest in 1976.
He is survived by Phyllis Clayton Mickschutz, his wife of 49 years; daughters, Lisa Chappell and husband Perry of Rolesville; grandsons, Benjamin, Alec, and Kyle; Ann Marie Stewart and husband Scott of Apison, Tenn.; grandchildren Hannah and Cody; and Heather Jones and husband Nicholas of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren Elijah, Noah, and Chloe. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Sulish and husband Philip of Atkinson, N.H. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Peter, of Wake Forest.
Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Sean Dennis Mickschutz and wife Janine of Franklinton. His sister-in-law, Pat Petitto of Youngsville and niece, Vincenza Petitto Wright and husband Tim of Wilmington; grandnephews, Trevor and Joseph; his life-long friend, Joseph Santosusso and wife Pat of Columbus, N.J. as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind countless friends for whom he was always grateful – you know who you are.
Pete loved calling Wake Forest home; he selflessly coached the “Lyons” T-ball team for over 10 years in the late 70s and the 80s for which he received the Town of WF Parks & Recreation “Volunteer of the Year” Award in 1989. Coach Pete, as he was referred to by “his kids”, made sure everyone played, had a good time and made their parents’ proud. Coaching T-ball was a highlight in his life.
As a devoted father and uncle, Pete was loved by many. He went by many names: Peter, Pete, Unka Pete, Coach Pete, Mr. Pete, Mr. M, SFS (family joke), but his favorite titles were Dad and Grandpop! His girls, grandchildren and “adopted” kids and grandkids loved him greatly. He definitely had a heart for children.
Pete was a loyal Washington Redskin fan for many decades. One of his favorite pastimes was surf fishing. For the past numerous years, Pete enjoyed making his special “Grandpop Cookies” for family and friends at Christmas time.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, October 2, 2015, at Crossroads Fellowship, Wake Forest-Rolesville campus, 13029 Keith Store Road, Wake Forest/Raleigh 27614. Friends may visit with the family following the service. A private interment will be held at the Town of Wake Forest Cemetery at a later date. Alice Bobbitt Fort, 81, of Wake Forest, passed away Friday evening September 25, 2015 at Rex Hospital. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Clellie O’Neal Bobbitt and Clyde Bobbitt. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Fort and her husband, Shafter Fort.
A memorial service celebrating her life was held at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon September 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Bill Slater officiating.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Cris Nelson of Wake Forest and Kim Whitley (Mitch) of Zebulon; a son, Kurt Fort (Rhoda) of Knightdale; grandchildren, Brandy and Scott Nelson, Reece Whitley, Ashley Swilley and Taylor Fort; 6 great grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Bailey Davis, 74, of Bullock died Friday, September 25, 2015, at Duke Hospital in Durham. She was born in Durham County, the daughter of the late Beatrice Ray Bailey and Conrad Bailey.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, September 29, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. George Fuller officiating. Burial was in Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her fiancé, Jay Edwards; daughter, Kathy Prichard (Greg) of Wake Forest; sons, Ray G. Davis (Teresa) of Creedmoor, Toby L. Davis of Raleigh; sisters, Betty Gallagher of Wake Forest and Faye Barnette (Sherman) of Durham; grandchildren, Curtis Davis (Tori), Courtney Cash, Bobby Prichard (Amanda); several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Red.

Zelma Pearson Kinton, 95, of Youngsville passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late John Willie Pearson and Lillie Wall Pearson. Mrs. Kinton was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from Schrader-Bellows.
Graveside funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Kinton is survived by her daughter, Betty K. Pearce and husband, Kenneth of Wake Forest; sons, Bobby Kinton and wife, Pam, and Curtis Kinton and wife, Evelyn, of Youngsville; brothers, Herman Pearson of Wake Forest and Jesse V. Pearson of Raleigh. 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Kinton; son, Dennis Kinton, Jr.; sisters, Elbertie Brown, Gracie Macon and Ruby Lee O’Neal and by her brother, John William Pearson Jr.

Lois Blackley Hurt, 69, of Youngsville passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at WakeMed. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Mary Ellen Clifton Blackley and Frank Blackley.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Harp officiating. Burial was in the Beulah Christian Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hurt is survived by her husband, Douglas Hurt; children, Jason Hurt (Hilary) of Youngsville, Allison Hurt of Raleigh, and Mary Beth Hurt Ball (Vinny) of Youngsville; a brother, Ed Blackley of Zebulon; grandchildren, Vinny Ball, Jr., Matt Ball, Cooper Ball, Addison Hurt, Harper Hurt and Anson Hurt; and special friend, Joetta Wriston.

Marie Long Ismay

Marie Long Ismay, 90, of Raleigh, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at Litchford Falls Healthcare. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of the late Anna Hollingsworth Long and Fred D. Long, and was married to Frederick “Fred” Ismay, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ismay loved singing and in her younger days she sang in a swing band. She was active in the Dowagiac Garden Club when she lived in Dowagiac, MI. She was a bookkeeper and kept the books when her husband Fred owned a gas station.
A memorial service was held at 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015, at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest with Pastor Lew Upchurch officiating.
Mrs. Ismay is survived by her children, Michael Stephen Ismay of Raleigh, Jeffrey Dean Ismay of Indianapolis, IN, and Gregory Lee Ismay and his wife, Maria, of Raleigh; grandchildren, August Frederick Ismay and Natalie Lucia-Marie Ismay both of Raleigh, Ryan Ismay of Jones, MI, and Amy Johnson of Three Rivers, MI; great-grandchildren, Emily Ismay, Jaden and Jordan Johnson.
