Fun car show June 20

The third annual Wake Forest Charity Car Show will take place Father’s Day weekend on Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in historic downtown Wake Forest.

The all-volunteer event, presented by Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. showcases classic and antique automobiles including, custom, muscle, sports, pony, classics, street rods and custom trucks.

Classic car hobbyists and enthusiasts will enjoy free admission, live music, food trucks, Model T assembly demonstration, door prizes, 50/50 raffle and of course, classic and unique cars. One hundred percent of the show’s proceeds will benefit local organizations, including the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club, Purple Heart Foundation of North Carolina and Miracle League of the Triangle.

“The Wake Forest Charity Car Show has become a popular event for couples and families,” says Michael Johnson, chair of WFD. “South White Street is lined with classic and antique cars and people get a glimpse at what traveled the roads of Wake Forest decades ago.”

Car registration begins at 8 a.m. at the intersection of South White Street and Elm Street. A $20 entry fee is required for owners wishing to display their cars or enter them for judging. Trailer parking will be available and the presentation of awards will begin at 2 p.m.

In 2014, 236 cars registered for exhibition and judging. Approximately 5,000 visitors attended the free show and $8,900 was donated to charity.
