Have a cup with the Mad Hatter

The Wake Forest Garden Club has a day of fun planned for you during its annual Mad Hatter’s Tea, Garden Market and Garden Tour.

It all happens Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the grounds and inside the Wake Forest Historical Museum on North Main Street. The plated tea will be served in the museum from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This year the theme of the tour is pools, barns and backyard retreats, and all 10 gardens are located in or around the North Main Street Historical District.

Pottery, jewelry, paintings and other art will be on display and available for purchase in our Garden Market, along with locally grown plants.

Local classic car aficionados will have their prized vehicles on display and will be happy to share experiences and expertise with you.

As a special treat, the museum will have a traveling Smithsonian exhibit entitled “Hometown  Teams: How Sports Shape America.” The exhibit is free and open to the public, as are the Garden Market and Classic Car Show.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Garden Club member or at The Cotton Company.  Tea and Tour tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event; tea-only or tour-only tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event.
