Jacqueline Theresa Carcuro, 84, of Louisburg passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Carcuro was born on July 15, 1930, in Edenton.
A private burial was held at Wake Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Carcuro is survived by her children, Sue Ann Downes and husband, Douglas, of Louisburg, Jacqueline Theresa Litts of Albany, N.Y., and Lisa Mitchell of Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Stephen, Adam and Lucas Palso, Kirsten, Callie and Cassie Mitchell, Jamie, Christopher and Jessica Litts; five great-grandchildren; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Carcuro, and by a son, Michael Carcuro.

Mary Lena Griffith

Mary Lena Griffith, 86, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015, at Universal Healthcare. Mrs. Griffith was born in South Boston, Virginia, the daughter of the late Sydnor Archer Jones and Iola Trammell Jones. She was married to Charles W. Griffith, who preceded her in death.
Services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by her children, Margaret Perry and husband, Millard, of Wake Forest, Charles “Danny” Griffith of Wake Forest and Carl Waverly Griffith of Wake Forest; brother, Edward Jones and wife, Gail, of Indiana; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Robert Arthur Bernard
Youngsville
Robert Arthur Bernard, 71, of Youngsville passed away Tuesday evening, March 31, 2015, at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Willimantic, Connecticut, the son of the late Arthur Alexander Bernard and Alice Duchaine Bernard. Mr. Bernard was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired after 29 years from Northrop Grumman where he was a Systems Engineer.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 o’clock Monday morning, April 6, 2015, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Mr. Bernard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pauline Hinkel Bernard; sons, David Bernard of Islip Terrace, N.Y., and Craig Bernard and wife, Gina, of Wake Forest; grandson, Ryan Bernard of Wake Forest; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Legere.

Joseph Mortlin (Joe) Bailey
Texas
Joseph Mortlin (Joe) Bailey, 88, passed away in Texas on Monday, March 30, 2015. He was born on February 15, 1927, in Wake Forest to Omie Ray Bailey and Elwood Yancey Bailey. After graduating from high school in Wake Forest, Joe worked for Armour Foods for 38 years. He was a member of the Sudan Temple and was recently recognized for 60 years as a Master Mason by the Granville Lodge #380 A.F. & A. M.
Joe had a full life living in eight states and 12 cities but he always yearned to be back on his beloved farmland. One of Mr. Bailey’s sayings was, “They don’t make any more land.” Mr. Bailey currently resided at The Woodlands, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 Saturday morning, April 4, 2015, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jamie Dew officiating. Entombment was in Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Batten Bailey; children, Lonnie Elwood Bailey, Beverly Bailey Robinson, Joseph Mortlin Bailey Jr. and wife, Gerry, and Cynthia Bailey Wilson and husband, Alan; grandchildren, Melissa Russell, Justin Robinson, Amanda Rose Bailey, Nicholas Joseph Bailey, Noel Cain, Kelley Wilson Wolford and Brittany Nicole Wilson; great-grandchildren, Caden, Joseph, and Lucas Russell, and Lane and Wilson Wolford; sisters, Maxine O’Neal, Mamie Rogers, and Ruby Hobby. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Sandling, Estelle Bailey, Priscilla Bailey, Virginia Jackson, Ruebelle Strickland, and Susie Peterson, and by his brother, Furman Bailey.
