Lisa Marie Martin, 36, of Whitakers, North Carolina, left this world unexpectedly on November 7, 2023, alongside the love of her life, Anthony W. Jones. Born on April 12, 1987, in Durham County, Lisa was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many.
Lisa was a talented repair specialist with R & L Builders & Sons, LLC. Beyond her professional endeavors, Lisa had a profound love for animals, with her dogs, Baby Girl, Champ, and Chance, holding a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her mother, Tiffany Sorrell of Durham; her father, Dennis Oliphant (Pamela Honeycutt) of Oxford; brother, Corey Oliphant (Heather) of Wake Forest; sister Brianna Honeycutt of Creedmoor; nieces, Skylar Oliphant, Cara Monroe and Cameron Monroe; nephew, Caleb Jackson Rose; lifelong friend, Jessica Wood Bowman of Mebane; second mama, Terri Wood of Durham; uncle, Joey Ray Jones (Lesley) of Asheboro; aunt, Shirley Andrews (David) and their family; great uncle, Cricket Ellis of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Ray “Papa” Jones of Durham, along with cousin Rivers Jones and extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Kenneth and Irene Lussier, and John and Maxine Oliphant.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. and Mrs. Barnhill for their many years of support for Lisa and Anthony.
Private services will be held in the future.

Michael Battista Jr., 82, of Wake Forest passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. He was born in Manhattan, NY July 28, 1941 to the late Michael Battista, Sr. and Blanche Battista. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Battista and sister-in-law, Jean Battista.
“Grandpa/Uncle Mickey” was an enthusiastic and active golfer and loved woodworking. Crafting both golf and wood projects for family and friends was his passion.
He is survived by his wife, Serafina Battista, a daughter, Michele Mastroianni and husband Dominic, a son, Michael Battista III and wife Amy, a brother, Edward Battista and wife Peggy, a sister, Amelia Miele and husband Lawrence and six grandchildren – Dominic III, Damiano, Donatella, Maria, Grant and Garrett.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jonathan Hayes officiating. Entombment will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum in Wake Forest. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Judy Mae Sykes, 78, formerly of Raleigh, passed away on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, at Lutheran Medical Center, following a tough fight with Leukemia.
She is survived by her partner of 39 years, Robert (Bob) Alldredge; her daughter, Theresa Madrid; her granddaughter, Angela Madrid; her sister, Lynda Sykes Pearce; her nephews, Jeff Pearce, Chad Pearce and James Michael Fowler; their wives, Natalie Pearce, Kim Pearce and Jen Fowler; her great-nephew and nieces, Eli Pearce, Landry Pearce, Racheal Pearce, Luke Fowler, Mason Fowler and Reese Fowler; her brother-in-law, William Alldredge; her beloved dog, Jax; and many dear family and friends.
Judy was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is the daughter of deceased Charles and Annie Sykes. Sister of deceased Katherine Ann Warren and mother figure to deceased Debbie Alldredge. She moved to Denver, Colorado in her late twenties and has lived here ever since. She worked as a Facilities Manager for Honeywell for over twenty years. She then worked at Jericho Properties, owned by her spouse Bob Alldredge, for 8 years prior to retiring.
Judy took great pride in her flower garden and home decorating. She had a passion for traveling the world, loved spending time with her family at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and greatly enjoyed riding in her bright red convertible TR6. Additionally, she spent many weekends with Bob and their friends tailgating for and attending Bronco’s games.
A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at Rolesville Baptist Church, 203 E. Young Street, Rolesville, NC 27571, with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges officiating.

Beverly Ann Lowe
Raleigh
Beverly Ann Lowe, also affectionately known as Grammy, passed away at home on November 23, 2023, in Raleigh, NC, at the age of 69. She was born on March 6, 1954, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Beverly was an excellent cook and found joy in expressing her love for her family through food and snacks. Her specialties included deviled eggs, potato salad, banana pudding, and her “famous” beef chili. Her culinary skills brought warmth and happiness to many family gatherings.
In addition to her culinary talents, Beverly had a passion for collecting American antiques. She had impeccable taste and a keen eye for finding the perfect piece of history. Her favorite place to hunt for these treasures was in Pennsylvania.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Lowe, her daughters Jennifer Terry (and husband Tony) and Christie Daniel (and husband Alan), her grandchildren Emma Daniel, Brody Terry, and Violet Terry, and her brother Richard Haines. She was also cherished by her great friends Becky Jaber & Christopher Kendall and Jack & Kathy Newman.
She was preceded in death by her father Cecil Haines, her mother Beulah Haines, and her brothers Dale Haines and Robert Haines.
In lieu of a memorial service, the family will take a private trip to Pennsylvania in the Spring of 2024 to remember Grammy and spread her ashes.
