Lots happening at Tri-Area Ministry

The weather is getting warmer and there’s LOTS going on at Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry!
The number of families which we served was steady in April and May, slightly down from the numbers we saw early in the year.  This often happens in the spring, and we expect the pace to pick up again at the end of school. Our volunteer corps remains strong, although we always can use an extra hand – including on our (two) open Saturdays. Check HERE for volunteer info.
Donations   Monetary donations are always welcome at TAMFP. We supplement the non-perishables that our community so generously donates with purchased meat, milk and bread. Your donations ensure that we can provide 4 pounds of meat, one gallon of milk and one loaf of bread to every family we feed. Click HERE to donate via our website.
Community Gardens    TAMFP is the fortunate recipient of fresh produce grown at 3 local community gardens – The Community Connections Garden at Wake Forest Baptist ChurchWake Forest Presbyterian Church Community Garden and LifePointe Church Community Garden. We are so thankful for the gorgeous bounty of fresh vegetables that we are able to provide thanks to the generosity of these gardens. Each of these family-friendly gardens is in need of volunteers. If you’re interested in helping, please drop us a line and we’ll connect you. Church membership not required.
Six One Five Collabeeration   Is a movement by several downtown restaurants and bars to give back to the community. A unique (and tasty) strawberry basil beer has been created by Norse Brewing Company and is being poured at Unwined on WhiteBodegaSugar Magnolia CaféOver the FallsStrike and Barrel, and Tonic. A portion of the proceeds from every pour donated to Tri-Area Ministry. In addition, Lumpy’s has created a strawberry basil ice cream, also donating a portion of the proceeds.  This is a delicious opportunity to support our local business AND TAMFP. I’ve tasted both and can assure you –YUM!
Potato Drop   Society of St. Andrew is hosting a potato bagging event on June 5 at 8:30AM, to be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church (Wake Forest). The bagged potatoes are donated to food pantries throughout our area, include TAMFP. This is a great, family-friendly event. Click HERE to sign up to volunteer, or email George Shaw for additional information.
Wegman’s  We’re excited to welcome Wegman’s to the Wake Forest community and as a strong advocate of TAMFP. We are well engaged with the local Wegman’s team, who have already supported us with multiple monetary grants. In addition, we receive still-fresh excess food several times per week from the new store. If you haven’t been, you should head over there and check it out. And if you bump into the store manager, Patrick McGuinness, please thank him for his and his store’s generous support of our ministry.
Lastly, and as always, THANK YOU to our dedicated group of volunteers who work (outdoors!) to feed our community. Our impact against food insecurity is possible because of YOU!
On behalf of our Board of Directors, THANK YOU for your support.
Together, we #StopHungerFeedHope in our #Community.
