Community Raffle has $10,000 top prize

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce announces a new fundraising initiative to support Chamber programming and the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern North Carolina. The Community Raffle, sponsored by Edward Jones, offers five different prizes including a $10,000 cash grand prize. Tickets are $50 each, and only 1,500 will be sold. The prize drawings will be held on Thursday, August 29th.

“We are pleased to support the Alzheimer’s Association through the Community Raffle,” said Ann Welton, president of the chamber. “A vital part of the chamber’s mission is ‘serve our community.’ With all the work we have done here in Wake Forest to become a ‘dementia-friendly community’ we think this a great fit.”

Local Edward Jones financial advisors are the presenting sponsors for the raffle. “Across the country, Edward Jones supports walks to end Alzheimer’s. We were pleased to be able to sponsor this initiative,” said Seth Asbill, a local financial advisor. “I hope our contribution helps find a cure for this terrible disease.”

“We wanted to involve the entire community,” Welton said. “Sadly, almost everyone knows of a person or loved one who has suffered from Alzheimer’s. At the same time, one lucky person will win $10,000!”

Other prizes include $3,000 in cash, a $1,000 lottery ticket basket, a $500 lottery ticket basket, and $500 in cash. Visit: go.rallyup.com/wfcommunityraffle to buy tickets. The Chamber is offering a special discount to those who buy three tickets, they’ll get one free!

Tickets are also available for purchase at the Wake Forest Area Chamber, 350 S. White Street.

All prizes will be drawn on Thursday, August 29. You do not need to be present to win, but you must be 18 or older to buy a ticket.
