The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will host a state of the chamber celebration on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at The Sutherland, presented by North State Bank. Tickets are $25 each and guests are asked to register early to ensure your seat at this fun event.

Door will open at 5 p.m. for registration and drinks, and the state of the chamber update will begin promptly at 5:30.

Afterward, guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by chamber members along with cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages provided by Pour Bar Services.

Thank you to these chamber members for offering an internship this fall to a high school student enrolled in the Wake Forest Career Readiness Academy. We appreciate your support of this new program that teaches leadership skills, on-the-job training and financial literacy.

We are in need of 30 more businesses to provide internships. While all types of businesses are encourage to offer an internship, top categories needed include law, engineering, physical therapy and other medical fields, marketing and graphic design, IT and programming, sports medicine/trainer, sports marketing and education. Internships can be unpaid or paid.

Information sessions will be held Tuesday, June 4, and Tuesday, June 18, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Wake Electric Membership Corporation, 100 South Franklinton Street. The Wake Forest Chamber’s Community Raffle is back for its second year! Presented by Edward Jones, the raffle will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern North Carolina, the Wake Forest Chamber and other community civic groups and nonprofits.

Tickets are $50 each and only 1,500 tickets will be sold. A total of $15,000 in prizes will be awarded. The top prize is $10,000 cash. Other prizes include: $3,000 cash, a $1,000 lottery ticket basket, a $500 lottery ticket basket and $500 cash.

The special promotion is buy 3 tickets, get one free. Tickets may be purchased at the Wake Forest Chamber at 350 South White Street, from a chamber board member or ambassador, or online at https://go.rallyup.com/wfcommunityraffle.

You do not need to be present to win but you must be 18 years or older to buy a ticket. Winning tickets will be drawn August 15, 2019 during Business After Hours.
