We are in need of 30 more businesses to provide internships. While all types of businesses are encourage to offer an internship, top categories needed include law, engineering, physical therapy and other medical fields, marketing and graphic design, IT and programming, sports medicine/trainer, sports marketing and education. Internships can be unpaid or paid.

Information sessions will be held Tuesday, June 4, and Tuesday, June 18, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Wake Electric Membership Corporation, 100 South Franklinton Street. All chamber members are invited to join the Government Affairs Committee for their monthly update on June 5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Wake Forest Chamber office. Their guest will be Lorrin Freeman, Wake County’s first woman District Attorney.

For over 20 years Lorrin Freeman has distinguished herself by playing a central role in forming a trusted criminal justice system in Wake County. She was elected to be Wake County’s first woman District Attorney in 2014 and was reelected in 2018. The Wake County District Attorney is the top law enforcement officer and head prosecutor in Wake County, playing a critical role in keeping our community safe.

The Wake Forest Chamber’s Community Raffle is back for its second year! Presented by Edward Jones, the raffle will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern North Carolina, the Wake Forest Chamber and other community civic groups and nonprofits.

Tickets are $50 each and only 1,500 tickets will be sold. A total of $15,000 in prizes will be awarded. The top prize is $10,000 cash. Other prizes include: $3,000 cash, a $1,000 lottery ticket basket, a $500 lottery ticket basket and $500 cash.

The special promotion is buy 3 tickets, get one free. Tickets may be purchased at the Wake Forest Chamber at 350 South White Street, from a chamber board member or ambassador, or online at https://go.rallyup.com/wfcommunityraffle.

You do not need to be present to win but you must be 18 years or older to buy a ticket. Winning tickets will be drawn August 15, 2019 during Business After Hours.
