This week Showmars restaurant in Wake Forest has held a three-day fundraiser to honor the lives of Paige Merical and Ian Lewis who died after being caught in a rip current off Emerald Isle earlier this month.
Many of the young employees at the restaurant knew or attended Wake Forest High School with Merical and Lewis.
There has been a donation box inside the restaurant at 1009 Stadium Drive since Monday, and tonight, Wednesday, May 1, the restaurant will host a Spirit Night from 5 to 9 p.m. during which a portion of the sales will be donated to the Merical and Lewis families to demonstrate the community’s support of those families during this difficult time.
