Habitat for Humanity of Wake County has preliminary plans to build six new affordable homes in Wake Forest in the next year – and they need home buyers for them.
The homes will be built by volunteers and the families purchasing the homes on six lots along the newly reconstructed Caddell Street between Spring Street and Pearce Avenue.
Rick Beech, the vice president of faith relations, said recently in an email, “We have not formalized our FY20 construction plan yet. Our preliminary thinking is that we may seek to build all six of these homes in FY20 (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020). We do not have homebuyers for these homes and we would greatly appreciate you encouraging families that may be interested in applying to go to our website to get more information https://www.habitatwake.org/apply and then complete the online pre-application http://www.tfaforms.com/4693145. Persons can contact Tamesia Wright tamesia.wright@habitatwake.org for additional information.
“We have been working with the Town of Wake Forest on creating more affordable homeownership opportunities in Wake Forest. The Town has developed the parcel of land on Caddell street, put in the street, subdivided the property into six lots, and provided utilities to these six lots. Habitat Wake then purchased these six lots from the Town at a discount.”
