A major road rehabilitation and resurfacing project affecting over 50 Wake Forest streets and roads began Monday and so far the project is going well, Eric Keravuori, the town’s director of engineering, said Tuesday. “I’m sure there will be some moments.
The town estimated the cost at $1,211,566 and Barnhill Contracting Company’s contract is for $1,354,405.65.
The project will take several months to complete and includes full depth patching, roadway repairs and repaving. During April, Barnhill will work on the following streets:
- Dagmar Lane
- Dugway Court
- Groveton Trail
- Elm Avenue
- Pineview Drive
- Bratt Avenue
- Carroll Street
- West Holding Avenue
- Highgate Circle
- North Taylor Street
- Seventh Street
- Crenshaw Point
- Tryst Lane
- Brooks Street
- Biscay Lane
- Moultonboro Avenue
- Joyner Court
- Woodland Drive
- Rookwood Court
- East Cedar Avenue
- Deacons Bend Court
- East Holding Avenue
- Studbury Hall Court
- West Vernon Avenue
- Coach Lantern Avenue
- Catrush Way
Affected residents will be notified of work in advance by door hangers. During the scheduled work dates, these residents will be required to move their parked vehicles off the street. Vehicles left on the street on the scheduled work dates will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Once the work begins, detour signs and flaggers will direct traffic around the work areas. Motorists in these areas should use caution, obey flag signals from construction personnel, and take the signed detour or choose an alternate route.

Heritage Lake Road is owned and maintained by NC DOT
Heritage Lake Rd is a mess. Not on list! Heritage probably pays half of the town taxes.
Did not see Heritage Lake Rd mentioned. It’s inundated with potholes and heavily traveled every day.
When will this be addressed?
