43 homes, 5 buildings permitted in Sept.

Home building continues at a steady pace in Wake Forest, with 43 permits issued in September for new houses, 21 single-family homes and 22 townhouse homes.

In addition, there were five permits for commercial buildings but none of them for retail uses. One was for a large addition to the Electric Motor Shop on North White Street, 6,400 sq. ft. with a value of $550,000. The other four are for office centers on Heritage Center Drive, off Rogers Road between South Main and the railroad line. Each of them will have 6,000 sq. ft. with a value of $398,000.

Dan Ryan Builders will build 10 townhouses along new Chatuga Way in the Franklin County section of the Richland Hills subdivision. Wilson Parker Homes will build eight townhouses on Oak Forest View Lane in Traditions, and CH Construction will build four townhouses along Winter Wren Circle in the Caveness Farms subdivision. Together the builders paid $90,652 in fees and the new homes will add at least $2,242,894 to the town’s tax base.
