At the current rate, the WFPD is on pace to record more than 300 DWI arrests in 2025, compared with a total of 128 in 2023 and 243 in 2024. According to Interim Police Chief Julius Jefferson, Wake Forest Police are committed to reversing this “troubling trend.” “We have a zero-tolerance policy against impaired driving,” said Jefferson. “Driving under the influence is careless and reckless. It not only endangers the life of the driver, but it can also have deadly consequences for passengers and others on the road.”  He urges community members who choose to travel and drink alcohol to plan ahead by designating a sober driver
