The Gazette missed out on the big event at the Northern Wake Senior Center, the celebration of the 28th annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day, but we can tell you about another event you will probably like. That is the Pulled Pork Pull-Up fundraiser for the center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, in the parking lot of the senior center on East Holding Avenue in Wake Forest. For $10 you will get a plate of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, and a roll. The meal is provided by the Cadence of Wake Forest, an assisted living and memory care facility. You do need to prepay for this. Just call the senior center at 919-554-4111. All proceeds from this meal will go to the Friends of Northern Wake Senior Center.
