WFPD hosts recruitment fair May 17

The Wake Forest Police Department will host a Recruitment Fair for sworn law enforcement officers and NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) graduates Friday, May 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place both inside and outside the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St. Designed to highlight the benefits of working for the Town of Wake Forest and specifically with the Wake Forest Police Department (WFPD), the occasion will include vehicle and equipment displays and provide information about job opportunities and career development. The recruitment fair will also offer attendees the opportunity to interact with members of the WFPD and the Town’s Human Resources Department. Another active shooter class set

The Wake Forest Police Department has scheduled a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) class on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The session will take place inside the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Free paper-shredding event April 29

The Town of Wake Forest is hosting its fourth annual paper-shredding event on Monday, April 29. Free and open to the public, “Shred-It” will take place rain or shine in the parking lot of the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St., from noon to 6 p.m. – or until the four Shred-it trucks are full. The occasion offers area residents and businesses the opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft and dispose of confidential documents in an environmentally responsible manner. All paper will be shredded on-site, then recycled. Participants are urged to help reduce contamination by removing all non-paper materials in advance, such as plastic binders, plastic folders and metal tabs. Registration continues for Trails Day 5K

The Greenways Advisory Board will host a family-friendly 5K race as part of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 1, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.
