‘Your Alien’ on stage at RenCen April 26

ArtsPower National Touring Theatre will offer two performances of “Your Alien” on Friday, April 26, at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 Brooks Street. Geared for audiences ages 12 and under, the shows are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. ArtsPower’s newest musical touches down with a stranded alien who strikes up a fabulous friendship with a boy who finds him. First 2019 memorial flag-raising to honor Timberlake

Area residents are invited to the 31st Wake Forest Memorial Flag-Raising Ceremony on Monday, April 1, at 11 a.m. The program, which will launch the 2019 memorial flag-raising season, will take place in Centennial Plaza, gateway to the Wake Forest Town Hall, at 301 Brooks Street. The April 1 service will honor George P. Timberlake Jr., who served his nation in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Members of Timberlake’s family will participate in the ceremony, which will include patriotic songs, special remarks, a memorial wreath laying and the ceremonial flag-raising. After raising the American flag, the Wake Forest Fire Department Honor Guard will raise the U.S. Navy service flag in recognition of the military branch in which Timberlake served. National Trails Day Race at Joyner June 1

The Greenways Advisory Board will host a family-friendly 5K race as part of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 1, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. Check-in on the day of the race starts at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. Race registration is underway online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/national-trails-day-5k.aspx<http://www.wakeforestnc.gov/national-trails-day-5k.aspx>. The entry fee is $25 before April 6; $30 before May 24; and $35 through June 1. Everyone who registers before May 24 will receive a race T-shirt. Same-day registrations will be accepted. Richard Burrell ‘Rick’ Price Richard Burrell “Rick” Price, 61, passed away at home peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.  Rick was born in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Burrell Oliver Price and Helen Marshall Price. Mr. Price served his country faithfully in the United States Army and was a lifelong UK fan. After serving his country he entered into the IT/Logistics field where he worked with IBM for over 24 years, Lenovo for five years and he was most recently a Logistics Manager with CEVA Logistics for the past 11 years.
