Budding business owners will again be showcased at the 39th Annual Meet in the Street festival in downtown Wake Forest on Saturday, May 4. Presented by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and sponsored by Blue Wave Pressure Washing, the Young Entrepreneurs Fair gives students from age 9 to 14 an opportunity to manufacture, market, and sell their handmade products. As part of its mission to support both entrepreneurship and youth programming, the Wake Forest Chamber invites students to participate at no charge. Jerry L. Singletary Raleigh Jerry L. Singletary, age 79, of Raleigh passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 7, 2019. Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Julia H. Singletary; son,  J. Lane Singletary (Diane) of Clayton;  daughters, Tracey S. Day (Dondi) of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Jessica H. Gardner (David) of Waxhaw; his adored grandchildren, Brayden and Logan Day, Kate and Hampton Gardner; step-granddaughter, Lauren (Scott) Amaral; and his brother, G. Max Singletary of Elizabeth City; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Whiteville,  he was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Garland M. and Jessie B.
