Town permitted 56 new homes in November

During November the Wake Forest Inspections Department issued permits for 43 single-family homes and 13 townhouses. The department also approved fit-ups for The Joint at 1000 Forestville Road, Nunzio’s Tapas Restaurant at 110 South White Street, Lendmark Financial Services at 914 Gateway Commons Circle and Glam Ink at 1608 Heritage Commerce Court, Suite 110. Pre-occupancy was approved for Alphabet Soup Educational Supplies & More at 222 East Jones Avenue, Puroclean of Wake Forest at 6063 Unicon Drive Suite H, Brancon Reece Insurance Agency at 1906 South Main Street Suite 122, Wake Forest Ninja Warrior at 10501 Ligon Mill Road Suite 104 and Homespire Mortgage at 1772 Heritage Center Drive Suite 203. The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a new event in 2019 – a Family Expo to be held Saturday, March 23 at Richland Creek Community Church. It will be an opportunity for area residents to learn about summer and track-out camp, find a local pre-school, childcare, educational center, health care and other family-oriented businesses. Donald (Gus) Lee Cross Wake Forest August 14 ~ December 11, 2018 Gus Cross, 89, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Wake Forest, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, under the care of Cornerstone Hospice Care. He was born August 14, 1929 in Newark, Ohio to the late John N. Cross, MD., and Dorothy M. Glesen. He is survived by the love of his life, Donna Jean (Bell) Cross, and 10 children, Peggy Porterfield, Don Carroll, Greg Cross, Ann Correia, Amy Cross, Scott Cross, Eric Cross,  Kevin Boekho, Becki Harris and Randy Redmond, and many grandchildren. He also took his nephew, Jack Cross, and niece, Kathy Cross, lovingly under his wing.
