Opinion: Change needed for DOT’s bridge at Stadium and Jenkins

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will soon reschedule the local meetings for the proposed conversion of Capital Boulevard/U.S. 1 to a freeway, and local people should look carefully at the plan to build a bridge over the freeway to connect Stadium Drive and Jenkins Road. Please go to the meeting when it is rescheduled and tell the DOT representatives how a bridge will not serve all the people who travel that intersection daily. The plans need to be redrawn. Do not be swayed by DOT’s

He was not present Tuesday night. The family cemetery is part of a tidying-up process for Olde Mill Stream subdivision by Mill Creek Associates and Ellerbee Creek Partnership in which the town accepting three small parcels for open space while rejecting the third, which is not accessible. The cemetery, .05 acre, is close to the historic Battle-Purnell House and is associated with it because of the Scholar family with members buried
