Two vacancies on cultural resources board

You can make a difference in our community by applying to fill one of two vacancies on the Cultural Resources Advisory Boar. All dresidents of Wake Forest and its extraterritorial jurisdiction are eligible to apply. The online application is available on the Town’s website at www.wakeforestnc.gov/advisory-board-application.aspx<http://www.wakeforestnc.gov/advisory-board-application.aspx>. Anyone without computer access is invited to complete the application by using the computer kiosks in the lobby of Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 Brooks Street. Hard copies are also available upon request by contacting Executive Assistant Cathi Pope at 919-435-9467 or cpope@wakeforestnc.gov<mailto:cpope@wakeforestnc.gov>. Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31. Applicants will be expected to attend the next scheduled meeting of the cultural resources board on Monday, Sept. 10, to introduce themselves to the board’s current members and discuss why they wish to serve. Third WF Home & Garden Show Aug. 11

The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre at 405 Brooks Street will host the third annual Wake Forest Home & Garden Show on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 12, from noon to 4 p.m. Presented by Mitchell Heating & Cooling, the Home & Garden Show will feature over 40 local experts showcasing the latest in home improvement products, services and features. 100% Comedy bringing humor to town

The Cotton Company will hold the second monthly showcase, 100% Comedy, in their event space on Friday, July 20 at 8:30 pm. Join them every third Friday to help encourage art and entertainment in downtown Wake Forest. Regularly hosted by Franklin Academy graduate, Benjamin Malone, 100% Comedy holds new local comedians on their stage each month. The show starts at 8:30, but doors open at 7 to provide the audience with time to arrive early and buy beer and wine. 100% Comedy will also be hosting special events such as their show, 100% Clean Comedy.
