Band shelter plan gets makeover

The plan for a band shelter at the Joyner Park amphitheater consisting of steel poles and two ribbons of colored glass panels is being abandoned after sharp comments by town commissioners on June 19 and questioning by members Wake Forest Recreation Advisory Board on June 25. “The RAB main concern was the functionality of the shell. During the next 15 years they had six children, and Charles Hart is the son of the oldest daughter, Maxine. During the Depression, Pinkney and Minnie lost all their savings they had set aside to help with their children’s education and then in 1930 they had to sell the farm.
