Music at Midday returning Thursday, Sept. 7

Area residents are invited to listen to great music and dine outside, while enjoying the fall season during Wake Forest’s Music at Midday weekly concert series. Co-sponsored by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department and Wake Forest ARTS, the free music series begins Thursday, Sept. 7, and continues on consecutive Thursdays through Sept. 28. Scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., the concerts will feature a variety of local performers and take place in Centennial Plaza, the gateway to the Wake Forest Town Hall at 401 Brooks Str.eet This year’s fall concert lineup includes Mister Felix on Sept. 7; Capital Transit on Sept. 14; and Loos Change on Sept. 28. Volunteer caregivers orientation Aug. 10

There are many seniors, adults with disabilities and their family caregivers who are in need of assistance with simple, everyday tasks. The needs are all across Wake County but are more severe in Wake Forest, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell and Garner. The Center for Volunteer Caregiving is in hopes volunteers from these areas will step forward to help fill the need, and the center is sponsoring a volunteer orientation Thursday, Aug. 10, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Northern Wake Senior Center on East Holding Avenue. Flexible volunteer opportunities are available. The center gives priority to those seniors and disabled adults who have the greatest economic and social need or are at risk of institutional placement.

He was born in Niagara Falls, New York. Mr. Weiler was married to his beloved wife, Mary Christine Weiler, for 55 years. He shared his talent, intellect, and expertise as a chemical engineer in many facets over the span of his forty-year career. A man who ever thought outside the box, he encouraged all who knew him to do the same, and loved the ensuing discussions!
