The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 2017 Golf Tournament at the Hasentree Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 2, and there are many ways for area businesses to be involved by becoming a sponsor, contributing a prize or playing in the tournament. Remember that date is also the tournament’s 25th birthday! This year’s registration includes greens fees, range balls, mulligans, a shotgun raffle ticket with the chance to win $200, beverages during play and a lunch reception. All profits support the club’s projects for children. Obituaries

William G. ‘Jerry’ Bailey Raleigh William G. “Jerry” Bailey, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 24, 2017. He was born in Raleigh on July 4, 1934 to the late William Andrew Bailey and Lillian Jones Bailey. He graduated from Millbrook High School in 1953. He attended Campbell College where he met his wife of almost 56 years. Shortly after getting married, Jerry was drafted into the Army and served in Germany for two years. After returning, he worked in sales for several plumbing companies – Standard Supply Company, Atlas Supply and Noland. He was a lifetime member of Bay Leaf Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, watching sports and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack team. He was a sweet loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Lola T.
