*The Wake Forest Farmers Market will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Renaissance Plaza in front of the Renaissance Centre. Food, music, farm-fresh produce and pasture-raised meats plus crafts, flowers, baked goods, coffee and honey. *The Youngsville Kiwanis Turkey Shoot is held every Saturday night from 6 to 10 p.m. at 2808 Cedar Creek Road. It will be held through Dec. 12 and the proceeds benefit the Kiwanis projects in the Youngsville area. *The Pre-Thanksgiving Farmers Market will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Renaissance Plaza on Brooks Street. Hershell Newton Ray Wendell Hershell N. Ray, 79, of Wendell died Sunday November 15, 2015, at Transitions Life Care Hospice in Raleigh. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Lettie Inscoe Ray and Hershell Costal Ray. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015, at Beulah Christian Baptist Church. Burial was in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon. Mr. Ray is survived by his wife, Ava Ray; sisters, Lucy Ray Jordan of Garner, Pearl Grady of Troy and Diane Hamilton of Garner; brothers, Paul Ray of Four Oaks, Leroy Ray of Smithfield, and Danny Ray of Raleigh; a special friend who was like a son, Keith Craven, and wife, Joan, of Willow Springs.
