WFHS pays tribute to SNL

On Saturday night, March 14, at 7 p.m., WFHS Theater students will showcase student talent interspersed with classic comedy sketches from the iconic television show Saturday Night Live which premiered in 1975. Teachers,  parents, and students will work together to portray the comedy of such classic entertainers as Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Jane Curtain, Joan Cusack, Adam Sandler, and Tina Fey. Admission is $5 with discounts for students and senior citizens. All material is school appropriate. The show lasts approximately 90 minutes. Car show returns June 20

The third annual Wake Forest Charity Car Show will take place Father’s Day weekend on Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in historic downtown Wake Forest. The all-volunteer event, presented by Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. showcases classic and antique automobiles including, custom, muscle, sports, pony, classics, street rods and custom trucks. Classic car hobbyists and enthusiasts will enjoy free admission, live music, food trucks, Model T assembly demonstration, door prizes, 50/50 raffle and of course, classic and unique cars. Warmth is wonderful

The days and the nights are warmer, and spring is just about here. This is great news for the vegetable vendors at the Wake Forest Farmers Market who found it impossible raise greens or anything with the ground covered with snow, to say nothing of the sleet and freezing nights. It may be another week or so before shoppers can enjoy fresh greens and other garden goodies, but it will be soon. However, you can count on a variety of meats, honey and honey products, baked goods, cheese and other local raised/produced items, and eggs are possible though they are always chancy in the winter; hens are not fond of short cold days. Andrew James Keller Wake Forest Andrew James Keller, 54, of Wake Forest passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Duke University Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with kidney cancer. He was born in Bethpage, N.Y., to the late Robert Lawrence Keller and Rose Ann Coyne Keller. He was a graduate of Florida State University and was a passionate Seminole fan. Andrew worked most recently for Triangle Equipment Group in sales. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 o’clock Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
